A comparison of i-gel™ and LMA Supreme™ in anesthetized and paralyzed children [PDF]
Both the i-gel™ (i-gel) and LMA Supreme™ (Supreme) are new single-use second generation supraglottic airway devices available in pediatric sizes. This study was designed to investigate the i-gel in comparison with the Supreme in children undergoing general anesthesia. One hundred children with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I or ...

Glutaredoxin (Grx) 3 proteins contain a thioredoxin domain and one to three class II Grx domains. These proteins play a crucial role in iron homeostasis in eukaryotic cells. In human Grx3, at least one of the two Grx domains, together with the thioredoxin domain, is essential for its function in iron metabolism.

Comparison of I-Gel and Auragain in Airway Management
Objective: We aimed to compare the superiority of I-Gel and Auragain, the second-generation supraglottic airway devices (SGAD) with different cuff structures, in terms of speed and ease of placement, oropharyngeal leak pressure (OLP), resistance of gastric contents, and post-operative oropharyngeal pain.

Dimeric pyruvate formate‐lyase cleaves pyruvate using a radical‐based mechanism. G734 serves as a radical storage location, and the radical is transferred to the catalytic C419 residue. Mutation of the C418‐C419 pair causes loss of enzyme activity, but does not impede radical introduction onto G734. Therefore, cis‐ but not trans‐radical transfer occurs

Fast preparative isoelectric focusing of phycocyanin subunits in layers of granulated gels [PDF]
A new method is presented for the fast preparative separation of the light-harvesting photosynthetic pigment C-phycocanin into its and subunits, which is based on isoelectric focusing in layers of granutaled gels containing 7 M urea. The method has been
