Small grains from Ryugu: handling and analysis pipeline for infrared synchrotron microspectroscopy

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2023
Sample-return missions allow the study of materials collected directly from celestial bodies, unbiased by atmospheric entry effects and/or terrestrial alteration and contamination phenomena, using state-of-the-art techniques which are available only in a

Pseudohypoparathyroidism Ia and Hypercalcitoninemia [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2001
Pseudohypoparathyroidism Ia (PHP Ia) is characterized by resistance to PTH and many other stimuli because of deficiency of stimulatory G protein alpha-subunit. To determine the incidence, natural history, and mechanism of C cell dysfunction in PHP, calcitonin assays were performed in six patients with PHP Ia and four with pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Exposure to arsenic in drinking water is associated with increased prevalence of diabetes: a cross-sectional study in the Zimapán and Lagunera regions in Mexico

open access: yesEnvironmental Health, 2011
Background Human exposures to inorganic arsenic (iAs) have been linked to an increased risk of diabetes mellitus. Recent laboratory studies showed that methylated trivalent metabolites of iAs may play key roles in the diabetogenic effects of iAs.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

On the possibilities of using a brushless doubly-fed reluctance generator in a 2 MW wind turbine

open access: yes, 2008
The paper will put a forward a description of a realistic design for a brushless doubly-fed machine that is of practical value. It takes the form a 4-pole / 8-pole machine aimed for use in a 2 MW wind turbine over a correct speed and torque range ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...
