Preservation of the climatic signal in the old ice layers at Dome B area (Antarctica)

open access: yesЛëд и снег, 2021
In this work we have presented the results of numerical modeling of the age and temperature distribution in ice layers at Dome B site (79,02° S, 93,69° E, altitude 3807 m a.s.l., ice thickness about 2.5 km), located 300 km to the west from Russian ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

A climate data record of sea ice age using Lagrangian advection of a triangular mesh [PDF]

open access: yesEarth System Science Data
We present LM-SIAge, a new Climate Data Record (CDR) of Arctic sea ice age spanning the period from 1991 through 2024. The dataset is based on a novel Lagrangian advection scheme applied to a triangular mesh, which conserves sea ice age fractions and ...

Investigating cold based summit glaciers through direct access to the glacier base: a case study constraining the maximum age of Chli Titlis glacier, Switzerland [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere, 2018
Cold glaciers at the highest locations of the European Alps have been investigated by drilling ice cores to retrieve their stratigraphic climate records.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Study on Bohai sea ice based on MODIS data

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2018
Based on MODIS L1B data, we identify information of sea ice area, peripheral line and density, and also use Landsat data with higher resolution to verify the results obtained from MODIS data. Using pseudo color processing technology is more intuitive and

Estimation of the age of ice hummocks in the freezing seas

open access: yesЛëд и снег, 2019
A method of estimating the ice ridge age proposed in the 1990s was analyzed and some disadvantages of this method were shown. Analysis of the ice thickness distribution in the ice ridges demonstrated that in many cases the average value of the thickness ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

A combined approach of remote sensing and airborne electromagnetics to determine the volume of polynya sea ice in the Laptev Sea [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere, 2013
A combined interpretation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite images and helicopter electromagnetic (HEM) sea-ice thickness data has provided an estimate of sea-ice volume formed in Laptev Sea polynyas during the winter of 2007/08.
