Sea ice kilometer‐scale characteristics are not explicitly represented in weather and climate model systems. However, due to the large differences of the surface temperature between sea ice and ocean, sea ice‐free areas (leads, polynyas, etc.) can have a

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Beryllium-7 and Lead-210 in the atmosphere and surface snow over the Greenland ice sheet in the summer of 1989 [PDF]
The concentrations of 7Be and 210Pb were measured in surface air and fresh and aging snow samples from Summit (72°20′N, 38°45′W) and Dye 3 (65°10′N, 44°45′W) Greenland, during June and July 1989.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Research on Sea Ice and Local Ice Load Monitoring System for Polar Cargo Vessels
Sea ice and the resulting loads are major safety concerns for vessels operating in ice-covered regions. This study presents a tailored sea ice and local ice load monitoring system specifically designed for polar cargo vessels.

Block freeze-concentration of coffee extract: Effect of freezing and thawing stages on solute recovery and bioactive compounds [PDF]
Coffee extract was freeze-concentrated using the total block technique. The effects of four parameters were evaluated: the initial coffee mass fraction (5 and 15% w/w), the cooling temperature ( 10 and 20 C), the heating temperature (20 and 40 C ...

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Assimilation of sea-ice concentration in a global climate model — physical and statistical aspects [PDF]
We investigate the initialisation of Northern Hemisphere sea ice in the global climate model ECHAM5/MPI-OM by assimilating sea-ice concentration data. The analysis updates for concentration are given by Newtonian relaxation, and we discuss different ways
