Relationship between sea ice concentration and sea ice albedo over Antarctica
Abstract : Sea ice is a key parameter for understanding the climate change in cryosphere. In this study,we investigated the correlation with the factors that influenced change of the sea ice extent. We used the SeaIce Concentration (SIC) from Ocean and Sea Ice Satellite Application Facility (OSI-SAF), and surface albedoprovided by The Satellite ...

The Performance of Mangrove Leaf Extract (Sonneratiaalba) in Combating Bacterial Associated with Ice–Ice Disease of Seaweed (Kappaphycusalvarezii) [PDF]
The outbreaks of ice–ice disease since 1999 at various seaweed culture in Indonesia were still very high with significant losses. Moreover, very scanty of the research on the cause and control methods has been developed.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Imaging radar contributions to a major air-sea-ice interaction study in the Greenland Sea [PDF]
By virtue of the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR's) imaging capabilities, such as all-weather imaging, relatively high resolution, and large dynamic range of backscatter from SAR ice and open ocean, information on the important marginal ice zone (MIZ ...

Technical note: formation of airborne ice crystals in a wall independent reactor (WIR) under atmospheric conditions [PDF]
Both, gas and particle scavenging contribute to the transport of organic compounds by ice crystals in the troposphere. To simulate these processes an experimental setup was developed to form airborne ice crystals under atmospheric conditions. Experiments

Water in a Polymeric Electrolyte Membrane: Sorption/Desorption and Freezing phenomena
Nafion is a perfluorosulfonated polymer, widely used in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells. This polymer adopts a complex structural organisation resulting from the microsegregation between hydrophobic backbones and hydrophilic sulfonic acid groups ...

Constraining recent lead pollution sources in the North Pacific using ice core stable lead isotopes [PDF]
Trends and sources of lead (Pb) aerosol pollution in the North Pacific rim of North America from 1850 to 2001 are investigated using a high-resolution (subannual to annual) ice core record recovered from Eclipse Icefield (3017 masl; St.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Respective impacts of Arctic sea ice decline and increasing greenhouse gases concentration on Sahel precipitation [PDF]
The impact of climate change on Sahel precipitation is uncertain and has to be widely documented. Recently, it has been shown that Arctic sea ice loss leverages the global warming effects worldwide, suggesting a potential impact of Arctic sea ice decline
