A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Effects of including the adjoint sea ice rheology on estimating Arctic Ocean–sea ice state
Abstract. The adjoint assimilation method has been applied to coupled ocean and sea ice models for sensitivity studies and Arctic state estimations. However, the accuracy of the adjoint model is degraded by simplifications of the adjoint of the sea ice model, especially the adjoint sea ice rheologies.

Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create

Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Analytical foundations of ice rheology
The deformation of ice is most reliably determined using stress diagrams. Analytical models for stress diagrams have been developed. In the class of analytical functions, the main rheological model of the stress diagram is represented by a polynomial dependency. A more compact empirical dependency is described by a logarithmic function. Both models are

Parameter Optimization in Sea Ice Models with Elastic-Viscoplastic Rheology [PDF]
Abstract. Ice rheology formulation is the key component of the modern sea ice modeling. In the CICE6 community model, rheology and landfast grounding/arching effects are simulated by functions of the sea ice thickness and concentration with a set of fixed parameters empirically adjusted to optimize the model performance.

Glacitectonics – a key approach to examining ice dynamics, substrate rheology and ice-bed coupling [PDF]
The role of ice masses within the Earth's climate system and in landscape change is increasingly being recognised within regions that are either currently glaciated or were glaciated during the geological past. There are many different remote and field-based approaches to studying the products of glaciation.

Aeration and rheology of buttercream icings
Buttercream icings – 4 phase materials comprising sugar, butter (an emulsion) and air – are widely used for coating and decorating sweet goods. The aeration of 2:1 w/w sugar-butter mixtures was investigated in 2 benchtop planetary mixers and the rheology of the resultant viscoplastic material was quantified using lubricated compressive testing (squeeze
