Contribution of Type Ia and Type II Supernovae for Intra-Cluster Medium Enrichment

open access: yes, 1998
The origin of the chemical composition of the intracluster medium (ICM) is discussed in this paper. In particular, the contribution from Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) to the ICM enrichment is shown to exist by adopting the fitting formulas which have been ...

O ICMS ESPORTIVO E O FINANCIAMENTO DAS POLÍTICAS MUNICIPAIS DE ESPORTE EM MINAS GERAIS

open access: yes, 2016
The Brazilian sales tax known as Tax on Circulation of Merchandise and Services (Imposto Sobre Circulacao de Mercadorias e Servicos – ICMS) is collected by state governments and partially distributed to municipalities.

Observation of monochromatic and coherent luminescence from nanocavities of GaN nanowall network

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Scaling-down the size of semiconductor cavity lasers and engineering their electromagnetic environment in the Purcell regime can bring about spectacular advance in nanodevices fabrication.

The Long-Term Stability of Intracortical Microstimulation and the Foreign Body Response Are Layer Dependent

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2022
Intracortical microstimulation (ICMS) of the somatosensory cortex (S1) can restore sensory function in patients with paralysis. Studies assessing the stability of ICMS have reported heterogeneous responses across electrodes and over time, potentially ...

Low-threshold, high-resolution, chronically stable intracortical microstimulation by ultraflexible electrodes

open access: yesbioRxiv, 2023
Intracortical microstimulation (ICMS) enables applications ranging from neuroprosthetics to causal circuit manipulations. However, the resolution, efficacy, and chronic stability of neuromodulation is often compromised by the adverse tissue responses to ...

Do it Right or Not at All: A Longitudinal Evaluation of a Conflict Managment System Implementation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We analyzed an eight-year multi-source longitudinal data set that followed a healthcare system in the Eastern United States as it implemented a major conflict management initiative to encourage line managers to consistently perform Personal Management ...

Dependence of exchange anisotropy and coercivity on the Fe–oxide structure in oxygen-passivated Fe nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Ultrafine Fe particles have been prepared by the inert gas condensation method and subsequently oxygen passivated. The as-obtained particles consist in an Fe core surrounded by an amorphous Fe-oxide surface layer.

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Directed Evolution of an Efficient Polycarbonate Depolymerase With Exceptional Operational Stability

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Here, we show that well studied PET hydrolases can be re‐engineered via directed evolution to deconstruct alternative aromatic‐containing commodity polymers. Introduction of only three mutations into LCCICCG was sufficient to generate an efficient polycarbonate hydrolase with high operational stability that can fully depolymerize a polycarbonate sample
