Immune Markers and Risk of Pancreatic Cancer in the European EPIC Cohort

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
The immune system has been implicated as a major driver in pancreatic cancer etiology. Previous cohort studies have found associations between pancreatic cancer and single immune system‐derived markers, but omics‐based evidence remains scarce. In this prospective case–control study, the authors investigated 92 proteins involved in immune reactions and ...

ICO rahoituskeinona

open access: yesHelsinki Law Review, 2020
ICO on lohkoketjuteknologiaan perustuva rahoituskeino, joka toteutetaan laskemalla liikkeelle lohkoketjuun kytketty instrumentti eli token. Tokeneihin voidaan lohkoketjuteknologian joustavuuden vuoksi kytkeä useita erilaisia ominaisuuksia, kuten osakkeille tyypillisiä ääni- ja omistusoikeuksia tai hyödykkeille tyypillisiä osto- ja käyttöoikeuksia. Not Missing the Notch: Detection Challenges of Juxtamembrane NOTCH1 Variant Detection in T‐Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Activating mutations in NOTCH1 are frequent in T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) and, in the absence of alterations in RAS or PTEN, are associated with favorable prognosis. Besides classical heterodimerization and PEST domain mutations, juxtamembrane internal tandem duplications (JME‐ITDs) represent a third class of ...

ICOS regulates ILC2s in asthma

open access: yesOncotarget, 2015
Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the airways leading to airway hyperreactivity and bronchoconstriction in response to allergens as well as unspecific stimuli such as cold air [1]. Classically, the key player cells in the pathogenesis of asthma are known to be T helper cells subsets including Th2, Th9 and Th17 as well as iNK T cells and dendritic ...

Current Cell/Organoid and Animal Models for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, EarlyView.
Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic cholestatic liver disease with limited therapeutic options and a marked risk of progression to biliary fibrosis, cirrhosis, and malignancy. Progress in PSC research has been hindered by the lack of models that faithfully recapitulate the complex biliary microenvironment and disease heterogeneity ...
