A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Over 600 V Lateral AlN-on-AlN Schottky Barrier Diodes with Ultra-Low Ideality Factor

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
This letter reports the demonstration of lateral AlN Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) on single-crystal AlN substrates by metalorganic CVD (MOCVD) with an ultra-low ideality factor ( η ) of 1.65, a high Schottky barrier height of 1.94 eV, a breakdown ...

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Analysis of fill factor losses in thin film CdS/CdTe photovoltaic devices

open access: yesMoldavian Journal of the Physical Sciences, 2010
In this paper, CdS/CdTe solar cells with conversion efficiency values of η = 5.1, 3.6, 3.5, and 2.9% are analyzed and the effects of the device parameters, such as the diode ideality factor (n), the saturation current-density (Jo), and the series ...

Generating random factored ideals in number fields

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2017
We present a randomized polynomial-time algorithm to generate an ideal and its factorization uniformly at random in a given number field. We do this by generating a random integer and its factorization according to the distribution of norms of ideals at most

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Factorization of Prime Ideal Extensions in Dedekind Domains

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Computation, 1995
The author describes a method of factorizing ideals in a finite separable extension of a Dedekind domain lying over a prime ideal of the base domain, as a product of prime ideals. She also discusses the computational aspects of the problem.
