Dual phenotypes in recurrent astrocytoma, IDH-mutant; coexistence of IDH-mutant and IDH-wildtype components: a case report with genetic and epigenetic analysis

open access: yesActa Neuropathologica Communications
Mutations in the isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) gene are recognized as the key drivers in the oncogenesis of astrocytoma and oligodendroglioma. However, the significance of IDH mutation in tumor maintenance and malignant transformation has not been elucidated.

KINETIC CHARACTERIZATION OF C. ELEGANS G97N MUTANT IDH-1

open access: yes, 2019
Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) is a critical enzyme in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle and other metabolic processes. IDH catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to ⍺-ketoglutarate (⍺-KG) with the reduction of NAD(P)+ to NAD(P)H ...

Board Independence and Adjustment Speed of CEO Inside Debt

open access: yesEuropean Financial Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We find that firms with more independent directors adjust CEO inside debt towards an optimum more quickly. This effect is more pronounced in financially unconstrained, growth, and under‐levered firms, and also firms led by more powerful or overconfident CEOs.

Epigenetic Regulation in the Pathogenesis of Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
The aim of this narrative literature review was to identify epigenetic marks associated with periodontitis and to place them in a biological context. The literature was reviewed based on pre‐defined criteria. Cell type specific chromatin and mRNA modifications were included.

The Anterolateral Transpedicular Transverse Process Screw Technique: Surgical Techniques, Biomechanical study and Preliminary Outcomes

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
This study designed a novel anterolateral screw placement technique and, based on this, developed a new anterolateral fixation method. Imaging, biomechanical, and short‐term efficacy analyses revealed that the Anterolateral Transpedicular Transverse Process Screw (ALTTS) technique achieves a high success rate for L5 vertebral fixation (pedicle width ...

The Construction of Compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation in Global Coffee Value Chains

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The European Union's Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) obliges the importers and users of seven agricultural commodities to achieve supply chain traceability and prevent deforestation‐linked products from entering the EU market. This paper investigates how companies and producing countries in the coffee sector prepared for EUDR compliance by ...

Mitochondrial Ca2+ uniporter haploinsufficiency leads to sexually dimorphic redox imbalance and metabolic remodelling in the mouse brain

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The genetic inactivation of one Mcu allele leads to sex‐specific changes in neuronal function in adult mice, that is, the firing of action potentials and the relationship between cytosolic and mitochondrial Ca2+ levels. The ability to produce NAD(P)H by stimulated neural tissue is largely preserved in male mice but delayed in ...

Sex‐Modulated TACSTD2 Methylation and Hormone‐Receptor Axis Interactions in Glioblastoma: Insights Toward Mechanistic Understanding

open access: yesComputational and Systems Oncology, Volume 6, Issue 1, December 2026.
Sex‐stratified analyses of the TCGA and CGGA cohorts have identified promoter‐proximal TACSTD2 CpG sites where methylation shows opposite survival associations in males and females, is independent of copy number, and correlates with TACSTD2 expression.

Transformation of IDH-wildtype glioblastoma to gliosarcoma with features of osteosarcoma

open access: yes
Gliosarcoma (GS) is a rare variant of IDH-wildtype glioblastoma. It is classified as grade 4 in the latest WHO CNS classification of both glial and mesenchymal components. Gliosarcoma may arise de novo or secondary from glioblastoma. It occurs in up to 2%

Focused Ultrasound‐Induced Mechanical Ablation Affects the Carbohydrate Metabolism of Residual/Peri‐Focally Localized Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 4, Page 1005-1016, 15 August 2026.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is highly aggressive and therapy‐resistant, warranting exploration of novel treatment strategies, among them mechanical high‐intensity focused ultrasound (mFUS), which holds significant promise for tumor ablation. The present study examined mFUS‐induced changes specifically in carbohydrate metabolism, which affects vulnerability to ...
