Allergen Immunotherapy for the Treatment of Eosinophilic Esophagitis. An EAACI Task Force Systematic Review

open access: yesClinical and Translational Allergy, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Multiple routes of allergen immunotherapy (AIT) are approved for several IgE‐mediated allergic diseases; however, the use of AIT in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) remains controversial and is supported by limited evidence. This review, conducted within the frame of an EAACI Task Force, aims to systematically evaluate the use of AIT ...

Extracellular Vesicles as Drivers of Lung Endothelial Dysfunction in ARDS: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 3, June 2026.

Climate Warming Will Reduce Boreal Forest Litterfall, but the Response Differs Among Plant Functional Types

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
We synthesized boreal litterfall data from published studies and applied generalized additive models to examine how stand age‐ and temperature‐related litterfall dynamics varies across plant functional types, and to project future trends under climate change.

Life History Consequences of the Prevalence of Aggressive Males Carrying Costly Weapons

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Using a soil mite system with dimorphic males, that is, aggressive, weaponized fighters and benign scramblers, we experimentally selected populations for higher proportion of fighter males for 25 generations. Populations with higher proportion of fighter males evolved faster juvenile development and higher early‐life fecundity.
