IL-2/anti-IL-2 mAb immunocomplexes were described to have dramatically higher activity than free IL-2 in vivo. We designed protein chimera consisting of IL-2 linked to light chain of anti-IL-2 mAb S4B6 through flexible oligopeptide spacer (Gly(4)Ser)(3).

Contra-IL 2; a suppressor lymphokine that inhibits IL 2 activity.
The Journal of Immunology, 1986Abstract Suppressive activity of culture supernatant of AS-9 (AS-9 CS), a T cell hybridoma line that was derived from fusion of BW5147 thymoma and splenic T cells of anti-lymphocyte serum-treated C3H mice, was analyzed. AS-9 CS inhibited allogeneic cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) generation as well as T cell proliferation to alloantigens ...

A temporal study assessed the relationship between fibrosarcoma growth and immunologic encumbrance due to the inability of BALB/c mouse splenocytes to elaborate the lymphokine Interleukin 2 (IL-2). Nylon-wool fractionation and antiserum treatments suggested the existence of a mildly nylon-wool-adherent, anti-Lyt 2-sensitive tumor-induced suppressor T ...

Immobilized IL-2 preserves the viability of an IL-2 dependent cell line
Molecular Immunology, 1993The mouse T-cell line CTLL-2 is known to be dependent on interleukin-2 (IL-2) for both growth and viability. These cells possess high affinity IL-2 receptors and have been shown to internalize IL-2 after binding. To determine if internalization of IL-2 is required for the mediation of its signal, IL-2 was covalently coupled to an insoluble matrix via ...

The IL-2/IL-2 receptor system: a target for rational immune intervention
Trends in Pharmacological Sciences, 1993The expression of interleukin 2 (IL-2), induction of its multisubunit receptor and subsequent interplay of this ligand with its receptor are pivotal events in T-cell activation. Our present understanding of the normal IL-2/IL-2R system and of disorders in this network in disease opens the possibility for more specific immune intervention.

Using anti-Tac (anti-alpha chain) and 2R-B (anti-beta chain) antibodies, we studied the roles of IL-2 receptor subunits (alpha and beta chains) in the formation of IL-2 and high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex, which is the initial event of IL-2 induced T cell growth.

Interaction between C3 and IL-2; inhibition of C3b binding to CR1 by IL-2
Immunology Letters, 1989We previously reported that C3 has a role in the enhancement of the IL-2 dependent proliferation of helper T cells. Because the IL-2R has a structural homology with the complement proteins, such as CR1 and CR2, we studied the possible ligand crossreactions on CR1 and IL-2-receptor, and the direct interaction between C3 and IL-2.

Comparison of the efficacy of local treatment of equine sarcoids with IL-2 or cisplatin/IL-2
Cancer Immunology, Immunotherapy, 2003Local interleukin-2 (IL-2) is effective in a number of experimental animal models and in veterinary and human cancer patients without discomforting side effects. The primary goal of this study was to compare the therapeutic effects and side effects of the local intratumoral administration of five or ten low doses of IL-2 with those of a combination of ...
