Gut Microbiome Revealed the Dominant Microbes Affecting the Feed Efficiency of Wannan Yellow Chicken

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science
Intestinal digestibility can be affected by the interaction between host and gut microbiota, which could influence feed efficiency in poultry. In this study, the performance of 1480 10-week-old Wannan Yellow chickens was recorded for 6 weeks, and the ...

Alterations and mechanistic insights of gut microbiota and its metabolites in type 2 diabetes mellitus and Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
This narrative review uniquely addresses how gut microbiota‐derived metabolites mediate overlapping pathologies of insulin resistance, neuroinflammation, and amyloidogenesis in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), proposing a framework for dual therapeutic targeting.

Giant ileal inflammatory fibroid polyp: a rare cause of intestinal intussusception

open access: yesJournal of Coloproctology, 2012
Ileal inflammatory fibroid polyp is a rare non-neoplastic lesion of the gastrointestinal tract. Intussusception caused by an inflammatory fibroid polyps is uncommon.

The impact of a high‐fat diet on liver health in pregnant mice and their offspring: The role of the gut‐liver axis

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
The study investigated the longitudinal effects of normal and high‐fat diet, showing their differential effects on gut microbiota diversity and gut metabolites, with the latter having a significant impact on increasing liver inflammation and gut microbiota and metabolites disruption.

Soyasaponin and vertical microbial transmission: Maternal effect on the intestinal development and health of early chicks

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
This study investigates the vertical transmission of maternal microbiota in chickens and how it is modulated by maternal soyasaponin supplementation. Using a model spanning the reproductive tract, egg components, and developing chicks, we show that maternal gut and reproductive microbiota, including Bifidobacterium adolescentis (B.

A gut microbiota‐bile acid axis inhibits the infection of an emerging coronavirus by targeting its cellular receptor aminopeptidase N

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Bacteroides fragilis employs bile salt hydrolase to reprogram host bile acid metabolism, generating lithocholic acid that directly blocks porcine deltacoronavirus infection by disrupting spike protein‐aminopeptidase N binding, defining a microbiota‐bile acid antiviral axis with therapeutic potential against coronaviruses.
