A thought to illustrate the uncertainty principle on the base of Otto-Wiener's experiment [PDF]
In this short paper a new thought experiment has been introduced to illustrate the famous Heisenberg's uncertainty principle based on Otto-Wiener's experiment (1890) associated with standing light waves. This illustration is quite easy as well as far more realizing than all other thought experiments generally found in textbooks. In this work seeding of

Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

A State-Dependent Updating Period For Certified Real-Time Model Predictive Control [PDF]
In this paper, a state-dependent control updating period framework is proposed that leads to real-time implementable Model Predictive Control with certified practical stability results and constraints satisfaction. The scheme is illustrated and validated using new certification bound that is derived in the case where the Fast Gradient iteration is used

This article advocates integrating temporal dynamics into cancer research. Rather than relying on static snapshots, researchers should increasingly consider adopting dynamic methods—such as live imaging, temporal omics, and liquid biopsies—to track how tumors evolve over time.

‘Where is the Prince?’ Unlocking Doré’s Illustration of Perrault’s Cinderella
This article proposes to consider illustrations as “intersemiotic translation” from words into images. Using this methodology, illustrations give particular insights into the reception and interpretation of Perrault’s fairy tales in a specific cultural ...

IlluSign: Illustrating Sign Language Videos by Leveraging the Attention Mechanism [PDF]
Sign languages are dynamic visual languages that involve hand gestures, in combination with non manual elements such as facial expressions. While video recordings of sign language are commonly used for education and documentation, the dynamic nature of signs can make it challenging to study them in detail, especially for new learners and educators ...

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Alectinib resistance in ALK+ NSCLC depends on treatment sequence and EML4‐ALK variants. Variant 1 exhibited off‐target resistance after first‐line treatment, while variant 3 and later lines favored on‐target mutations. Early resistance involved off‐target alterations, like MET and NF2, while on‐target mutations emerged with prolonged therapy.
