Meta Learning for Image Captioning
Reinforcement learning (RL) has shown its advantages in image captioning by optimizing the non-differentiable metric directly in the reward learning process. However, due to the reward hacking problem in RL, maximizing reward may not lead to better quality of the caption, especially from the aspects of propositional content and distinctiveness. In this

Matrix Stiffness Induces Endothelial Network Senescence
Using a 3D human in vitro model that decouples mechanical stress from inflammatory or biochemical signals, matrix stiffening induces a senescence phenotype in endothelial networks. This mechano‐induced senescence activates Notch signaling, and pharmacologic Notch inhibition attenuates this stiffness‐induced senescence.

Integrating Abstract Meaning Representation to Enhance Transformer-Based Image Captioning
Although recent image captioning models have achieved substantial progress, they still encounter limitations in capturing abstract semantics, resulting in insufficient semantic depth and limited diversity in expression.

An in‐situ spacer‐cation construction strategy is developed by inducing strong hydrogen bonding between n‐hexyl phosphonic acid (HPA) and FA+, forming a stable N‐type 2D/3D perovskite heterostructure. This approach suppressed defect formation, promoted electron transport, and improved intrinsic stability, delivering 26.32% PCE, excellent operational ...

Partially-Supervised Image Captioning
Image captioning models are becoming increasingly successful at describing the content of images in restricted domains. However, if these models are to function in the wild - for example, as assistants for people with impaired vision - a much larger number and variety of visual concepts must be understood.

Complex microarchitectures emerge from simple flow‐driven transformations as static mixers iteratively reorient and split material domains. Coupled with diverse deposition strategies, chaotic printing provides an accessible platform for fabricating architected materials that support biologically and chemically relevant processes. ABSTRACT Nature builds

Cascade Semantic Fusion for Image Captioning
Recent advances in deep visual attention methods accelerate greatly the research of image captioning. However, how to leverage hand-crafted features or deep features for the encoder of image captioning is not fully explored, due to the difficulty in ...

A Unifying Thermodynamic Model for Phase Separation and Aging of Biopolymers
Phase separation and aging of intrinsically disordered proteins are placed in a unifying framework. A thermodynamically consistent time‐dependent version of associating‐polymer theory shows how the processes are intricately coupled. Assuming aging to occur through interacting sites resulting from reversible conformational transitions, the model ...
