Time-frequency masking for speaker of interest extraction in an immersive environment

IEEE SOUTHEASTCON 2014, 2014
Distributed microphone systems can be used to enhance intelligibility for a speaker of interest (SOI) in a noisy environment of multiple speech sources (cocktail party scenario). For finite microphone distributions, however, interfering speech sources leak into the beamformed signal and degrade intelligibility.

The intermediate and high-frequency noise of probes immersed in gas discharges

Physica, 1967
Abstract It is shown that the noise current flowing to probes immersed in gas discharges can at intermediate frequencies be explained in terms of the noise of the space-charge sheath surrounding the probe and of the noise of the bulk plasma. At larger probe currents the latter noise source predominates.

Frequency shifts of piezoelectric quartz crystals immersed in organic liquids

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1982
A piezoelectric quartz crystal oscillates in organic liquids. The frequency change (ΔF) depends on the density (d) and viscosity (η) according to ΔF = ad1/2 + bη1/2 — c, where a, b and c, are constants depending on the crystal.

Multi Frequency Solution of Chatter Stability for Low Immersion Milling

Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, 2004
Finish milling is usually required in the peripheral milling of thin aircraft webs with long end mills, where the structures are flexible and radial depths of cut are small. The spindle speed and depth of cut must be selected optimally to avoid both forced and chatter vibrations, which in turn enables production of the parts within specified tolerances.

Frequency shift of a rotating mass-imbalance immersed in an acoustic fluid

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005
In this paper, we describe a physical mechanism that relates a measurable behavior of a rigid oscillator device to the physical properties of a surrounding acoustic medium. The device under consideration is a rotating mass imbalance within an enclosed shell that is immersed in an unbounded acoustic fluid.

Frequency Response of Cantilever Beams Immersed in Viscous Fluids

2015
<p>The dynamic response of microcantilever beams is used in a broad range of applications, including ultra-sensitive mass measurements and imaging with molecular and atomic scale resolution. This chapter presents an overview of the theoretical models for the fluid-structure interaction of cantilever beams immersed in viscous fluid.

Frequency responses of immersing tunnel element under wave actions

Journal of Marine Science and Application, 2009
The immersion of large-scale tunnel elements is one of the most important working procedures in the construction of an underwater immersed tunnel. To investigate the dynamic characteristics of tunnel element in the process of immersion, based on the twin-barge immersing operation method, the frequency-domain analysis of the tunnel element motions under

Frequency Characteristics of a Quartz Tuning Fork Immersed in He II

Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 2012
The effect of dissipation on frequency characteristics of tuning forks was measured, the dissipation being induced by acoustic radiation of different wavelengths, excited by tuning forks. The tuning forks have been immersed in the superfluid helium. The fork resonance frequencies 32, 77 and 99 kHz have been measured at T=370 mK in the pressure range ...

Effects of immersion time and frequency of water exchange on durability of etch‐and‐rinse adhesive

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, 2010
AbstractThis study evaluated the immediate and long‐term bond strength to dentin (microtensile bond strength, μTBS) and silver nitrate uptake (SNU) of a three‐ and two‐step etch‐and‐rinse adhesive under different water immersion times and frequency of water exchange.

Influence of Measurement Parameters on Frequency Response Analysis Diagnosis for Oil-immersed Transformer

IEEJ Transactions on Fundamentals and Materials, 2011
SUMMARYAppropriate monitoring and maintenance become important as an oil‐immersed transformer ages. Generally, dissolved gas analysis (DGA) is effective for the online diagnosis, and if an abnormality is detected, frequency response analysis (FRA) is effective for the offline diagnosis to localize the failed part.
