Immobilization tools and materials selection in dentoalveolar fracture

open access: yesPadjadjaran Journal of Dentistry, 2007
Dentoalveolar fracture treatment can be performed in a simple way without surgery by reposition the fractured fragment and establish immobilization. One of the factors affecting the success of dentoalveolar fracture treatment is immobilization material ...

Assessment of in situ immobilization of Lead (Pb) and Arsenic (As) in contaminated soils with phosphate and iron: solubility and bioaccessibility

open access: yes, 2010
The effect of in situ immobilization of lead (Pb) and arsenic (As) in soil with respectively phosphate and iron is well recognized. However, studies on combined Pb and As-contaminated soil are fewer, and assessment of the effectiveness of the ...

Evaluating Pre-Immobilization and Post-Immobilization Bioimprinting Strategies for the Activation of Lipases: A Case Study of LipC12

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology
Research background. Although there are many studies of the bioimprinting of lipases, there is no study comparing the strategies of bioimprinting prior to immobilization (pre-immobilization) and bioimprinting after immobilization (post-immobilization ...

The Effect of Immobilization Stress on Gastric Mucosal Histopathology in White Mice (Mus musculus) Male Swiss Webster Strain

open access: yesMCBS (Molecular and Cellular Biomedical Sciences), 2020
Background: Immobilization stress is one method of stress induction on experimental animals. It affects the psychology and physical of experimental animals and is the recommended method for assessing changes in histological structure damage.

Immobilization of Laccase onto Polysulfone/Sepiolite Nanocomposite using Box-Behnken Design

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2023
In this study, two different types of enzyme immobilization methods which were physical adsorptions (PA), and covalent bonding of cross-linked enzyme aggregates (CLEA) were used for laccase to immobilize onto raw polysulfone (PSF) and polysulfone ...

Immobilization of invertase in conducting copolymers of 3-methylthienyl methacrylate

open access: yes, 2003
Immobilization of invertase in conducting copolymer matrices of 3-methylthienyl methacrylate with pyrrole and thiophene was achieved by constant potential electrolysis using sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as the supporting electrolyte.

Advances in immobilization of radionuclide wastes by alkali activated cement and related materials

open access: yes, 2022
Nuclear power is seen a significant part of new energy industry because of the low carbon emission feature and high efficiency. Safe and reliable immobilization of radionuclide wastes from nuclear power station is important for its operation.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Short-Term Immobilization Promotes a Rapid Loss of Motor Evoked Potentials and Strength That Is Not Rescued by rTMS Treatment

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2021
Short-term limb immobilization results in skeletal muscle decline, but the underlying mechanisms are incompletely understood. This study aimed to determine the neurophysiologic basis of immobilization-induced skeletal muscle decline, and whether ...
