Regulation of lipid metabolism by 1,2,4-trioxolanes and betulin under hypoxia and immobilization stress in rats

open access: yesУчёные записки Санкт-Петербургского государственного медицинского университета им. Акад. И.П. Павлова
Introduction. Lipid metabolism disorders, caused by both excessive physical and psycho-emotional stress, and physical hypoxia, are important problems in the prevention and treatment of a number of diseases. The objective was to study the effect of 1,2,4 ...

DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF NANO/MICRO REINFORCED PMMA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Práce sleduje vliv velikosti částic na elastický modul a deformační chování za mezí kluzu. Bylo pozorováno, že jak elastická oblast, tak oblast za mezí kluzu ukazuje silnou závislost chování na velikosti částic.

Adaptive Hydrogels With Spatiotemporal Stiffening Using pH‐Modulating Enzymes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemomechanical coupling in an adaptive hydrogel is studied to further the development of adaptive hydrogels. This coupling is achieved by embedding a pH‐modulating enzyme in a pH‐responsive hydrogel. The enzymatic reaction can be triggered locally, which generates a pH‐decreasing wave throughout the system, increasing the crosslinking density and ...

Effect of acute immobilization on the hematological, red-ox and rheological parameters of erythrocytes in rats [PDF]

open access: yesAl Ameen Journal of Medical Sciences, 2013
Objectives: Immobilization effects on antioxidant enzymes activities, red-ox variables and rheological parameters of erythrocytes were studied. Background: It is not clear to which extent immobilization-induced oxidative stress may affect erythrocyte ...

LL‐37 Driven Phase Transition and Stacking in Oligolamellar Gram‐Negative Bacterial Membrane Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work establishes oligolamellar bacterial membrane models to investigate how LL‐37 disrupts the complex dual‐bilayer architecture of Gram‐negative bacteria. Combining SAXS, cryo‐TEM, electrophoretic mobility measurements, and coarse‐grained simulations, it reveals cardiolipin‐driven phase transitions leading to bicelle‐like structures and membrane ...

Prevention of immobilization stress-induced lipid peroxidation processes and antioxidant protection disorders in the development of experimental periodontitis

open access: yesMìžnarodnij Endokrinologìčnij Žurnal
Background. Periodontitis is one of the most common dental diseases. It is generally accepted that concomitant diseases and syndromes significantly change physiological processes in the body, reduce its adaptive capabilities and treatment effectiveness ...

In‐Situ Solution Complexation for n‐Type Surface‐Energetics Reconstruction in 2.0 eV Ultra‐Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reactive in situ solution complexation strategy reconstructs the surface of 2.0 eV ultra‐wide‐bandgap perovskites via proton transfer. This chemical modulation eliminates metallic defects and induces a degenerate‐like n‐type surface, establishing an Ohmic tunneling contact.

Single‐ and Dual‐Atom Configurations in Atomically Dispersed Catalysts for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐atom and dual‐atom‐based atomically dispersed catalysts (ADCs) effectively address the shuttle effect and sluggish redox kinetics in Li–S batteries. With nearly 100% atomic utilization and tunable coordination environments, ADCs enhance LiPSs adsorption, lower conversion barriers, and accelerate sulfur redox reactions.
