Selective escape from CD8+ T-Cell responses represents a major driving force of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) sequence diversity and reveals constraints on HIV-1 evolution [PDF]
The sequence diversity of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) represents a major obstacle to the development of an effective vaccine, yet the forces impacting the evolution of this pathogen remain unclear.

Understanding the interplay between HIV-1 diversity, humoral immune responses and viral fitness [PDF]
Includes bibliographical references.HIV-1 antibody dependent cell cytotoxicity (ADCC) and neutralizing antibody (nAb) responses are both thought to be important responses to elicit through vaccination.

The RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) writer methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) is upregulated in many types of cancer and promotes cancer progression by increasing expression of several oncogenes. Therefore, a better understanding of the mechanisms regulating

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

The relationship between autophagy and PD-L1 and their role in antitumor therapy
Immune checkpoint blockade therapy is an important advance in cancer treatment, and the representative drugs (PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies) have greatly improved clinical outcomes in various human cancers.

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Dynamics of Immune Escape during HIV/SIV Infection [PDF]
Several studies have shown that cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) play an important role in controlling HIV/SIV infection. Notably, the observation of escape mutants suggests a selective pressure induced by the CTL response. However, it remains difficult to

Immune escape of colorectal tumors via local LRH-1/Cyp11b1-mediated synthesis of immunosuppressive glucocorticoids. [PDF]
Control of tumor development and growth by the immune system critically defines patient fate and survival. What regulates the escape of colorectal tumors from destruction by the immune system is currently unclear.

Inhibition of CK2/ING4 Pathway Facilitates Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer Immunotherapy
Immune cells can protect against tumor progression by killing cancer cells, while aberrant expression of the immune checkpoint protein PD‐L1 (programmed death ligand 1) in cancer cells facilitates tumor immune escape and inhibits anti‐tumor immunotherapy.

The recent emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants showing increased transmissibility and immune escape is a matter of global concern. Their origin remains unclear, but intra-host virus evolution during persistent infections could be a contributing factor. Here,
