Immune infiltrates and cytokines in gliomas

Acta Neurochirurgica, 1996
Frozen sections of 21 gliomas were analysed to characterize inflammatory infiltrating cells, HLA-DR antigen expression and cytokine secretion. Mononuclear cells infiltrating the tumours were mostly macrophages, which were detected in 100% of cases, and expressed HLA-DR antigens.

Immune Cell Infiltration in Feline Meningioma

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 2017
Meningioma is the most common primary brain tumour in the cat. Although most of these tumours are considered to be benign based on histological characteristics, little is known regarding microenvironmental changes associated with the tumour. The characterization of the immune-cell infiltrate in human and canine meningiomas has been described; however ...

Placenta immune infiltrates and perinatal outcomes

American Journal of Reproductive Immunology, 2018
Pregnancy is a state of immunotolerance and loss of this immunotolerance may lead to fetal rejection, pregnancy complications, and neonatal complications. Immunobiology of pregnancy is complex and involves unique immune cell populations specific to pregnancy, changes in mucosal immune cells and peripheral immune system, and reciprocal adaptations ...

Heavy Metal to Rock the Immune Infiltrate

Trends in Immunology, 2017
Two resource articles recently published in Cell demonstrate that the elevated phenotypic complexity of the immune infiltrate in human lung adenocarcinomas and renal cell carcinomas can be reliably dissected with mass cytometry. These findings may pave the way to a new era of precision cancer immunotherapy.

Decidual Immune Cell Infiltrate in Hydatidiform Mole

Cancer Investigation, 2009
Hydatidiform mole is a gestational trophoblastic disease characterized by proliferation of the pregnancy-associated trophoblastic tissue. Complete hydatidiform mole is an entirely paternally derived lesion, and therefore, represents complete intrauterine allografts that can induce an altered maternal immune response Hypothesis: Here, we hypothesize ...

Characterization of endometriosis-associated immune cell infiltrates (EMaICI)

Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 2016
To identify and characterize endometriosis-associated immune cell infiltrates (EMaICI). Furthermore, to define occurrence and size of EMaICI in various types of endometriosis.Immune cells were characterized in samples of 60 premenopausal women with histological proven endometriosis. Therefore, immunohistochemical staining with monoclonal antibodies for
