open access: bronzeBlood, 1957
Abstract A study of leukocyte antibodies is presented using (1) the sera of rabbits immunized with human leukocytes, and (2) the sera of three patients screened for the presence of such antibodies from among 36 patients with hematologic disease, 31 of whom (including the 3 studied in detail) had received multiple transfusions.

The Opsonins of Normal and Immune Sera [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of Immunology, 1942
Summary A thermolabile antistaphylococcic opsonin is found in active guinea-pig serum. The opsonin operates as a function of its concentration but no zone-phenomenon is noted. The magnitude of opsonization by the fresh serum is the same whether the organism is viable or not, but the opsonic action of active guinea-pig serum is greater ...

ON CROSS REACTIONS OF IMMUNE SERA TO AZOPROTEINS [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1936
Azoproteins have been prepared with azocomponents possessing two serologically active groups. On immunization with such antigens immune sera were obtained containing two separate, unrelated antibodies, each specific for one of the two groups and separable by absorption.

Unique Profile of Proinflammatory Cytokines in Plasma of Drug-Naïve Individuals with Advanced HIV/TB Co-Infection

open access: yesViruses, 2023
HIV-1 infection is characterized by aberrant immune activation, and infection with M. tuberculosis by an unbalanced production of proinflammatory cytokines. The expression of these cytokines in HIV-1/TB coinfection is still understudied.
