Clonal analysis of a human antibody response. Quantitation of precursors of antibody-producing cells and generation and characterization of monoclonal IgM, IgG, and IgA to rabies virus. [PDF]
We quantitated and characterized the changes in the human B cell repertoire, at the clonal level, before and after immunization with rabies virus. Moreover, we generated 10 monoclonal cell lines producing IgM, IgG, and IgA antibodies to the virus.

Perfluorocarbon‐based artificial oxygen carriers have long been of scientific interest for because they can be used as oxygen donors in medical applications. Lecithin‐modified nanoscale oxygen carriers (LENOX) are a newly designed nanoscaled emulsion based on perfluorodecalin, which is characterized by its compatibility with numerous clinically ...

Structural features of human immunoglobulin G that determine isotype-specific differences in complement activation. [PDF]
Although very similar in sequence, the four subclasses of human immunoglobulin G (IgG) differ markedly in their ability to activate complement. Glu318-Lys320-Lys322 has been identified as a key binding motif for the first component of complement, C1q ...

Indeno[2,1‐c]fluorene Quasi[8]circulenes Through Intramolecular Cyclization
A new class of curved, chiral polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon emerges from the fusion of indeno[2,1‐c]fluorene and quasi[8]circulene motifs. These redox‐active, antiaromatic scaffolds offer great synthetic utility, tunable properties, and modular functionalities for organic electronics and functional materials. Abstract The study of polycyclic aromatic

The role of the host—Neutrophil biology
Abstract Neutrophilic polymorphonuclear leukocytes (neutrophils) are myeloid cells packed with lysosomal granules (hence also called granulocytes) that contain a formidable antimicrobial arsenal. They are terminally differentiated cells that play a critical role in acute and chronic inflammation, as well as in the resolution of inflammation and wound ...

Engineering antibodies with cancer‐associated binding sites
This review describes antibodies that perform direct/indirect roles in cancer treatment by binding to effective targets and discusses how antibodies kill tumors and modulate tumor microenvironment through these targets. The classification of expression systems for antibody production is summarized to guide appropriate selection based on different ...
