Characterisation of placental malaria in olive baboons (Papio anubis) infected with Plasmodium knowlesi H strain [PDF]

open access: yesInt. J. Integ. Biol: Year 2012 Volume 9, Issue No. 2: 54 - 58, 2012
Pregnant women have increased susceptibility to malaria infection. In these women, malaria parasites are frequently found sequestered in the placental intervillous spaces, a condition referred to as placental malaria (PM). Placental malaria threatens the health of the mother and the child's life by causing still births and reduction in gestational age.

Immunosuppressive JAG2+ tumor‐associated neutrophils hamper PD‐1 blockade response in ovarian cancer by mediating the differentiation of effector regulatory T cells

open access: yesCancer Communications, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Tumor‐associated neutrophils (TANs) play a critical role in modulating immune responses and exhibit significant heterogeneity. Our previous study demonstrated that jagged canonical Notch ligand 2 (JAG2)+ TANs were associated with an immunosuppressive microenvironment in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC), but the underlying ...

Recent Advances in Enzymes and Chemoenzymatic Synthesis of Tetrasaccharide Linkage Region of Proteoglycans

open access: yesChemBioChem, Accepted Article.
Proteoglycans (PGs) play roles in many important biological events including growth factor signaling, wound repair, blood coagulation, brain development, and neural stem cell migration. As the glycosaminoglycan chain of PGs is attached to the core protein through a tetrasaccharide linkage region, it is important to decipher the intricate control of the

Engineering and Structural Elucidation of a Sac7d‐Derived IgG Fc‐Specific Affitin and Its Application for the Light‐Controlled Affinity Purification of Antibodies

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
An affitin derived from the Sac7d scaffold enables the light‐controlled affinity purification of antibodies under physiological conditions, thus overcoming limitations of protein A chromatography. X‐ray crystallographic analysis and affinity measurements reveal complex formation with Fc at the CH2/CH3 junction, similar to protein A/G and FnRn. Combined

Comparative analysis of PD‐1 target engagement of dostarlimab and pembrolizumab in advanced solid tumors using ex vivo IL‐2 stimulation data

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 12, Issue 1, Page 87-94, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Dostarlimab (JEMPERLI) is an anti‐programmed cell death protein‐1 (PD‐1) monoclonal antibody (mAb) which is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for patients with recurrent/advanced mismatch repair‐deficient solid tumors, including endometrial cancer, following progression on prior treatment, with approval based on data from the ...

Amyloid‐Related Imaging Abnormality (ARIA) Beyond the APOE‐ε4 Allele

open access: yesChronic Diseases and Translational Medicine, EarlyView.
Mechanism of action of monoclonal antibodies targeting Aβ in the treatment of AD. (A) Targets of various mAbs. (B) Mechanism of monoclonal antibody‐mediated clearance of Aβ. mAbs facilitate the clearance of Aβ by enhancing microglial‐mediated phagocytosis through the upregulation of TREM2 expression.

Immunological and Toxicological Assessment of Triterpenoid Saponins Bearing Lewis‐X‐ and QS‐21‐Based Trisaccharides

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The synthesis of betulinic acid and echinocystic acid saponins featuring QS‐21 minimal immunogenic motif is reported. These chimeric saponins, together with previously synthesized Lewis‐X‐containing triterpenoid saponins and a rhamnose‐modified saponin, were assessed for their toxicological and immunological profiles in wild‐type and/or hDC‐SIGN ...
