De novo inference of diversity genes and analysis of non-canonical V(DD)J recombination in immunoglobulins [PDF]
The V(D)J recombination forms the immunoglobulin genes by joining the variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) germline genes. Since variations in germline genes have been linked to various diseases, personalized immunogenomics aims at finding alleles of germline genes across various patients.

BIMCV COVID-19+: a large annotated dataset of RX and CT images from COVID-19 patients [PDF]
This paper describes BIMCV COVID-19+, a large dataset from the Valencian Region Medical ImageBank (BIMCV) containing chest X-ray images CXR (CR, DX) and computed tomography (CT) imaging of COVID-19+ patients along with their radiological findings and locations, pathologies, radiological reports (in Spanish), DICOM metadata, Polymerase chain reaction ...

Phototherapy via Modulation of β‐Amyloid in Combating Alzheimer's Disease
This review introduces the light‐regulated Aβ aggregation, highlighting four applications: photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), photopharmacology, and photobiomodulation (PBM) systems. It also summarizes the current issues and proposes the prospects of photo‐induced modulation of Aβ aggregation and clearance as a therapeutic strategy

Dynamic model of HIV infection with immune system response of T-lymphocytes, B-cells and dendritic cells: a review [PDF]
A dynamic model of non-lineal time-dependent ordinary differential equations (ODE) has been applied to the interactions of a HIV infection with the immune system cells. This model has been simplified into two compartments: lymph node and peripheral blood.

Recurrence quantification analysis as a tool for the characterization of molecular dynamics simulations [PDF]
A molecular dynamics simulation of a Lennard-Jones fluid, and a trajectory of the B1 immunoglobulin G-binding domain of streptococcal protein G (B1-IgG) simulated in water are analyzed by recurrence quantification, which is noteworthy for its independence from stationarity constraints, as well as its ability to detect transients, and both linear and ...

Alterations in gut microbiota and metabolites contribute to postoperative sleep disturbances
In this study, we classified postoperative patients into poor sleepers (PS) and good sleepers (GS) based on the bispectral index (BIS), and transplanted their fecal microbiota to pseudo‐germ‐free rats to analyze the sleep changes in rats and the potential mechanism.

Application of humanized mice in the safety experiments of antibody drugs
The graphical abstract of this review highlights the critical role of humanized mice in the safety evaluation of antibody drugs. First, the inherent immunogenicity of antibody drugs can lead to the production of antidrug antibodies and hypersensitivity reactions on repeated administration.

Abstract Pyocyanin is a phenazine with redox activity produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa that is harmful to other bacteria and eukaryotic organisms by generating reactive oxygen species. Gene regulation of pyocyanin synthesis has been addressed in the PAO1 and PA14 strains and involves the three‐quorum sensing systems Las, Rhl, and Pqs; the regulators ...

We successfully constructed CAST/EiJ mice models infected with low‐dose vaccinia virus (VACV‐L), high‐dose VACV (VACV‐H), and mpox virus (MPXV), demonstrating that VACV‐L and MPXV infections induced splenomegaly in mice, and VACV‐H infection caused mortality in mice.

Comparative proteome analysis of the ligamentum flavum of patients with lumbar spinal canal stenosis
This study investigated the pathology of thickened ligamentum flavum in patients with lumbar spinal canal stenosis (LSCS) based on protein expression levels using shotgun proteome analysis. The results showed that tissue repair via fibrosis, chondrometaplasia, and amyloid deposits may be important pathologies that occur in the thickened ligamentum ...
