IMMUNOGIOBULIN IgY TRANSFER FROM DAMS TO THEIR EGG YOLKS AND CHICKS IN SOME LOCAL DEVELOPED EGYPTIAN STRAINS [PDF]

open access: yesEgyptian Poultry Science, 2018
This work was done to investigate the immune fitness of newly hatched chicks in four local improved Egyptian strains using immunoglobulin-Y (IgY) Index transferred from hens through egg yolk to offspring.

One‐Pot Synthesis of a Small Synthetic Ligand for Antibody Purification

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
One‐pot liquid‐phase synthesis of the synthetic ligand B1Al2A2 enables controllable ligand density and efficient capture of IgG and IgY with high recovery and purity, streamlining small‐ligand affinity purification workflows. ABSTRACT The development of synthetic affinity ligands offers a cost‐effective alternative to traditional biological ligands ...

Biocompatible excipients to improve the stability of immunoglobulin Y (IgY) antibodies

open access: yes, 2021
Avian immunoglobulin Y (IgY), found in egg yolk, has potential to be used as a biopharmaceutical. Contrarily to its analogous mammalian immunoglobulin G (IgG), IgY presents high immunogenicity and binding avidity, and the ability to be recovered by a

Recombinant Monoclonal Antibodies for Detecting the Tubulin Post‐Translational Modifications Glutamylation and Lysine‐40 Acetylation

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Post‐translational modifications (PTMs) to tubulin subunits in microtubule filaments are thought to comprise a component of the tubulin code that specifies microtubule functions in cell physiology and animal development. Acetylation of Lysine‐40 (K40) on α‐tubulin (αTub‐K40ac) and glutamylation of both α‐ and β‐tubulin are two tubulin PTMs of ...

Evaluation of a receptor gene responsible for maternal blood IgY transfer into egg yolks using bursectomized IgY-depleted chickens

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2020
In avian species, maternal immunoglobulin Y (IgY) is transferred from the blood to the yolks of maturing oocytes; however, the mechanism underlying this transfer is unknown. To gain insight into the mechanisms of maternal IgY transfer into egg yolks, IgY-

Development and Analytical Validation of a Smartphone‐Based Quantitative Lateral Flow Immunoassay for Serum Cystatin‐C

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
We developed a gold nanoparticle‐based lateral flow immunoassay that pairs a fixed‐geometry smartphone reader with an Android application for quantitative serum Cystatin‐C measurement. The 15‐min assay covered 0.32–8.00 mg/L with a 0.15 mg/L detection limit and CVs below 10%.

Production of Coturnix quail immunoglobulins Y (IgYs) against Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio vulnificus

open access: yesFood Science and Biotechnology, 2011
Production of chicken immunoglobulins Y (IgYs) and their applications in prophylactic, therapeutic, detection of microbial contaminants and as a diagnostic tool has been widely studied with limited information from other avians. This study produced Coturnix quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) egg yolk IgYs against Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio ...

Analysis of Carbohydrates and Glycoconjugates by Matrix‐Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometry: An Update for 2023–2024

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The use of MALDI mass spectrometry for the analysis of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates is a well‐established technique and this comprehensive review is the twelfth update of the original article published in 1999 and brings coverage of the literature to the end of 2024.

Understanding the Type 2 Immunity: An Evolving View Beyond Allergic Diseases

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Type 2 (T2) immunity is classically associated with defense against helminths and environmental threats, from a physiological perspective, and with allergies and eosinophilic inflammatory diseases, in a pathological sense. However, growing evidence reveals that T2 pathways also support other essential homeostatic functions, including tissue ...

Preparation and purification of anti immunoglobulin Y antibodies from rabbit

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ̒Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Bābul, 2004
Background and Objective: Chicken egg yolk antibodies (IgY) play an important role as an alternative to mammalian polyclonal antibodies. They are recently used in medical research for prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
