Selective inhibition of T suppressor-cell function by a monosaccharide [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
Interactions between regulatory T lymphocytes and other cells are assumed to occur at the level of the cell surface. T cells which suppress the generation of specifically effector cells have been described as having antigenic, idiotypic, allotypic and I ...

Inactivation of the Phosphatase Activity of Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase Modulates SIRT3 and Attenuates Experimental Pulmonary Hypertension

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
Genetic inactivation of the phosphatase activity of soluble epoxide hydrolase prevents the development of pulmonary hypertension in rats, partly through upregulation of SIRT3 expression and decreased cell proliferation and apoptosis‐related proteins. Targeting sEH‐P emerges as a promising therapeutic strategy for pulmonary hypertension.

Autoantikörpernachweis mittels indirekter Immunfluoreszenz an HEp-2-Zellen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Systemic autoimmune diseases are characterized by the presence of antinuclear autoantibodies (ANAs). Diluted patient sera are typically used to screen for the presence of ANAs by immunofluorescence microscopy with fixed HEp-2 cells.

Proteomic Analysis of Regulated Dendritic Cell Endosomes Reveals Dynamic Adaptation to Antigen Uptake and Cross‐Presentation

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 2, February 2026.
Phagocytosis of yeast activates recruitment of proteases and trafficking factors from the secretory and endosomal pathways to the IRAP compartment and subsequently phagosomes, promoting cross‐presentation. In the absence of Sec22b, IRAP endosome and phagosome maturation to late endosomes is accelerated.

New Roles for Two-Component System Response Regulators of Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhi during Host Cell Interactions

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2020
In order to survive external stresses, bacteria need to adapt quickly to changes in their environment. One adaptive mechanism is to coordinate and alter their gene expression by using two-component systems (TCS).

Fat‐Corrected Non‐Gaussian Diffusion MRI for Liver Fibrosis Assessment in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 497-507, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background In patients with metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), non‐Gaussian diffusion—weighted imaging (DWI) has been proposed for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis, but its measurement is partially confounded by steatosis.

Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation in Common Variable Immunodeficiency: A Case of Successful Treatment of Severe Refractory Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is the most common primary immunodeficiency in adults. It is associated with hypogammaglobulinemia, recurring infections and autoimmune phenomena.

Imaging morphological details and pathological differences of red blood cells using tapping-mode AFM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The surface topography of red blood cells (RBCs) was investigated under nearphysiological conditions using atomic force microscopy (AFM). An immobilization protocol was established where RBCs are coupled via molecular bonds of the membrane glycoproteins ...

Children and Adolescents With Localised Non‐Rhabdomyosarcoma Soft Tissue Sarcoma: Results of the CWS‐96 and CWS‐2002P Prospective Trials With Reclassification of the Trial Data Incorporating the Recent Soft Tissue Sarcoma Registry

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Here we report the results of the first comprehensive European trials for all soft tissue sarcoma entities, which aimed to develop a new risk stratification system, limit radiotherapy and chemotherapy for low‐/standard‐risk patients, and evaluate different chemotherapy regimens for high‐risk patients.
