Application and interpretation of immunophenotyping data in safety and risk assessment

open access: yesFrontiers in Toxicology
The use of immunophenotyping during immunotoxicity investigations was first popularized in the 1980 s and has since become more integrated into diagnostic and non-clinical assessments.

From Conventional to Precision Therapy in Canine Mammary Cancer: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2021
Canine mammary tumors (CMTs) are the most common neoplasm in intact female dogs. Canine mammary cancer (CMC) represents 50% of CMTs, and besides surgery, which is the elective treatment, additional targeted and non-targeted therapies could offer benefits

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Multicentric B-cell lymphoma in a pygmy goat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A six-year-old, male pygmy goat was referred with a sudden onset of peripheral lymphadenopathy, which initially started as enlarged inguinal lymph nodes. Clinical examination showed swollen retropharyngeal, prescapular and inguinal lymph nodes. Serologic

Evaluation of human umbilical cord blood as a source of embryonic stem cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Human umbilical cord blood (HUCB) has been poorly characterised as a source of embryonic stem cells (ESCs). The aim of this study, therefore, was to evaluate HUCB as source of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with embryonic characteristics.

In‐Depth Profiling Highlights the Effect of Efgartigimod on Peripheral Innate and Adaptive Immune Cells in Myasthenia Gravis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by antibody‐mediated complement activation. Efgartigimod, a neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) antagonist, is approved for treating generalized MG (gMG). However, its modulatory effects on upstream innate and adaptive immune cells remain largely unexplored.

Analytical Comparison of Three Commercial Lysing Reagents for Full‐Spectrum Flow Cytometric Immunophenotyping [PDF]

open access: goldJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Our study compared three commercial lysing solutions used in spectral FC immunophenotyping. We found that Excellyse I demonstrated the best overall performance, with greater cell preservation, clearer population resolution, and lower variability in scatter and fluorescence.

Catecholamine stress alters neutrophil trafficking and impairs wound healing by β2-adrenergic receptor-mediated upregulation of IL-6. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Stress-induced hormones can alter the inflammatory response to tissue injury; however, the precise mechanism by which epinephrine influences inflammatory response and wound healing is not well defined.

Immune‐Driven Expression in Inclusion Body Myositis With T‐Cell Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives T‐cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia (T‐LGLL), reported in up to 58% of inclusion body myositis (IBM) patients, is a rare leukemia of cytotoxic or less commonly helper T cells. The range of myopathies in T‐LGLL and the impact of coexisting T‐LGLL in IBM are not well understood. Our objectives are to investigate the spectrum of

Major and minor lymphocytes subpopulations in peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid of children with meningitis

open access: yesИнфекция и иммунитет, 2021
Introduction. The analysis of current publications indicates at our insufficient understanding of subpopulation composition of lymphocytes in peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) during pediatric neuroinfectious diseases. It has been found that
