La protein regulates protein expression by binding with the mRNAs of target genes and participates the pathological process of ovarian cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2022
Research on the mechanism and new targets of ovarian cancer is of great significance to reduce the high mortality and drug resistance of ovarian cancer.

Native Chromatin Immunoprecipitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Native chromatin immunoprecipitation refers to a method that allows for identification and quantification of DNA that is associated with specific chromatin proteins without altering the structure of these proteins. The method has been used with great success in the past and has some advantages over the more widely used cross-linking chromatin ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

The centrosomal deubiquitylase USP21 regulates Gli1 transcriptional activity and stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
USP21 is a centrosome-associated deubiquitylase (DUB) that has been implicated in the formation of primary cilia - crucial organelles for the regulation of the Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway in vertebrates. Here, we identify KCTD6 - a cullin-3 E3-ligase

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Coimmunoprecipitation with MYR1 Identifies Three Additional Proteins within the Toxoplasma gondii Parasitophorous Vacuole Required for Translocation of Dense Granule Effectors into Host Cells

open access: yesmSphere, 2020
Toxoplasma gondii is a ubiquitous, intracellular protozoan that extensively modifies infected host cells through secreted effector proteins. Many such effectors must be translocated across the parasitophorous vacuole (PV), in which the parasites ...

RNA-binding protein immunoprecipitation as a tool to investigate plant miRNA processing interference by regulatory proteins of diverse origin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Due to the nature of viral RNA genomes, RNA viruses depend on many RNA-binding proteins (RBP) of viral and host origin for replication, dissemination and evasion of host RNA degradation pathways.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Protein Interaction Network Analysis of Soluble Starch Synthase 3 Reveals Its Composition of the Starch Synthase Complex in Barley

open access: yesAgronomy
Starch synthase collaboratively accomplishes the synthesis of starch by forming a protein complex. In barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), the interaction mechanisms within the soluble starch synthase 3 (SSIII) protein complex and their specific roles in starch ...

Smad7:β-catenin Complex Regulates Myogenic Gene Transcription [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Recent reports indicate that Smad7 promotes skeletal muscle differentiation and growth. We previously documented a non-canonical role of nuclear Smad7 during myogenesis, independent of its role in TGF-β signaling.
