Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Hypoxia potentiates glioma-mediated immunosuppression. [PDF]
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a lethal cancer that exerts potent immune suppression. Hypoxia is a predominant feature of GBM, but it is unclear to the degree in which tumor hypoxia contributes to this tumor-mediated immunosuppression.

Comprehensive comparison of three different immunosuppressive regimens for liver transplant patients with hepatocellular carcinoma: steroid-free immunosuppression, induction immunosuppression and standard immunosuppression. [PDF]
The different choices of immunosuppression (IS) regimens influenced the outcomes of liver transplantation. Steroid was applied as a standard IS to prevent and treat rejections. However, steroid-related complications were increasingly prominent.

Predicting tacrolimus exposure in kidney transplanted patients using machine learning [PDF]
Tacrolimus is one of the cornerstone immunosuppressive drugs in most transplantation centers worldwide following solid organ transplantation. Therapeutic drug monitoring of tacrolimus is necessary in order to avoid rejection of the transplanted organ or severe side effects.

Immunosuppressive Drugs in Early Systemic Sclerosis and Prevention of Damage Accrual
Objective Organ damage in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) in individual organs such as the lungs may be prevented by receiving immunosuppressive drugs (ISs). A new measure of global organ damage, the Scleroderma Clinical Trials Consortium Damage Index (SCTC‐DI), has allowed us to investigate whether receiving ISs may reduce global organ damage ...
