Inhibitory action of polyunsaturated fatty acids on IMP dehydrogenase
Biochimie, 2007We screened the inhibitor of mouse inosine 5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) type II from natural compounds, and found that a fatty acid, linoleic acid (C18:2), inhibited IMPDH activity. In the C18:2 fatty acid derivatives, all trans-configuration (i.e., linoelaidic acid), ester form, alcohol form, and addition of the hydroxyl group of linoleic ...

IMP dehydrogenase: Inhibition by the anti-leukemic drug, tiazofurin
Leukemia Research, 1989Tiazofurin through its active metabolite thiazole-4-carboxamide adenine dinucleotide (TAD) inhibits IMP dehydrogenase, the rate-limiting enzyme of GTP biosynthesis. IMP dehydrogenase activity in human leukemic cell extracts (33.4 +/- 0.1 nmol/h/mg protein) was increased 11-fold compared to normal leukocytes (3.1 +/- 0.5).

IMP Dehydrogenase Mutants: Cell Culture Model for Hyperuricemia
1984These studies with wild-type and mutant cells defective in IMP dehydrogenase and the previous data with the adenylosuccinate synthetase-deficient cell line suggest that among the clinical population with dominantly inherited hyperuricemia, patients with partial deficiencies in these enzymes exist.

Purification and some properties of IMP dehydrogenase of Bacillus cereus
Microbiological Research, 1998IMP dehydrogenase was purified from a crude extract of B, cereus cells. The molecular mass of the purified enzyme was estimated to be 56 kDa by SDS-PAGE and 225 kDa by gel filtration. The optimum pH of the enzyme was about 9.5. The first seven residues at N-terminus of the enzyme was determined to be Met-Trp-Glu-Ser-Lys-Phe-Val.

Isolation and sequence of a cDNA encoding mouse IMP dehydrogenase
Gene, 1991Inosinic acid (IMP) dehydrogenase (IMPD) catalyzes the conversion of IMP to XMP as the first committed step in GMP biosynthesis de novo. We have isolated a cDNA containing the complete coding region of mouse IMPD by its ability to complement a bacterial mutant lacking IMPD activity. Two independent cDNA clones were isolated by complementation, of which

Asp338 Controls Hydride Transfer in Escherichia coli IMP Dehydrogenase
Biochemistry, 2000IMP dehydrogenase (IMPDH) catalyzes the oxidation of IMP to XMP with the concomitant reduction of NAD(+). This reaction involves the formation of a covalent adduct with an active site Cys. This intermediate, E-XMP, hydrolyzes to produce XMP. The mutation of Asp338 to Ala severely impairs the activity of Escherichia coli IMPDH, decreasing the value of k(
