Coefficient of Restitution as a Fluctuating Quantity
The coefficient of restitution of a spherical particle in contact with a flat plate is investigated as a function of the impact velocity. As an experimental observation we notice non-trivial (non-Gaussian) fluctuations of the measured values. For a fixed

HIGH VELOCITY IMPACT ON TEXTILE REINFORCED COMPOSITES
Three types of fabric, 2D woven and 3D stitched, were compared on their impact performance. Tests were performed at three different rates, from quasi-static to high velocity impact (100m/s). The paper addresses the energy absorption capacity of these textiles.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Analysis of simple 2-D and 3-D metal structures subjected to fragment impact [PDF]
Theoretical methods were developed for predicting the large-deflection elastic-plastic transient structural responses of metal containment or deflector (C/D) structures to cope with rotor burst fragment impact attack.

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Reconstructing the solar integrated radial velocity using MDI/SOHO
Searches for exoplanets with radial velocity techniques are increasingly sensitive to stellar activity. It is therefore crucial to characterize how this activity influences radial velocity measurements in their study of the detectability of planets in ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Coefficient of Restitution of a Squash Ball
The coefficient of restitution of a Double Yellow Dot squash ball was examined at impact velocities ranging from 13 to 29 m/s. A high-speed camera was used with video analysis to record and analyze the motion of a squash ball as it collided against a ...
