Measurement of the glottal impedance with a mechanical model

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1989
An approximate but realistic model of the human larynx was constructed to gain better knowledge of the complex glottal impedance and its dependence on glottal width, flow, and frequency. The glottal width was adjustable from 0 to 3 mm, the flow from 0 to 500 cm3/s.

Experimental modelling of biomechanical impedance characteristics

Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1986
New experimental modelling of biomechanical impedance is proposed. The parameters which express the impedance characteristics are simply determined by impedance measurement. Audiofrequencies below about 1000 Hz and comparatively lower preloads (below about 6370 kg m−2) are chosen as the research domain.

Modeling Degradation in SOEC Impedance Spectra

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2013
Solid oxide cell (SOC) performance is limited by various processes. One way to investigate these processes is by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. In order to quantify and characterize the processes, an equivalent circuit can be used to model the SOC impedance spectra (IS).

Model Predictive Impedance Control: A Model for Joint Movement

Journal of Motor Behavior, 1997
Impedance control has been suggested as the strategy employed by the central nervous system to control human postures and movements. A realization of this strategy is presented that uses a model predictive control algorithm as a higher motor controller. External disturbances are explicitly included in the model.

Models for representing the acoustic radiation impedance of the mouth

IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1985
The acoustic radiation impedance of the mouth is important in the production of speech in that it affects the amount of acoustic power radiated away from the mouth and it influences the acoustic response of the excited vocal tract. Five existing methods of modeling the acoustic radiation impedance of the mouth are: 1) the pulsating sphere, 2) the ...

Cole Electrical Impedance Model—A Critique and an Alternative

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2005
The Cole single-dispersion impedance model is based upon a constant phase element (CPE), a conductance parameter as a dependent parameter and a characteristic time constant as an independent parameter. Usually however, the time constant of tissue or cell suspensions is conductance dependent, and so the Cole model is incompatible with general relaxation

Impedance boundary modelling

2000
Although the perfectly conducting ground model is adequate for many applications, it is not universally applicable. A more accurate model is required for surface wave propagation, for correct modelling of reflection effects at vertical polarization or for the modelling of propagation over rough surfaces.

Simplified Impedance Model for Adhesively Bonded Piezo-Impedance Transducers

Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2009
The electromechanical impedance technique employs surface-bonded lead zirconate titanate piezoelectric ceramic patches as impedance transducers for structural health monitoring and nondestructive evaluation. The patches are bonded to the monitored structures using finitely thick adhesive bond layer, which introduces shear lag effect, thus invariably ...

The Impedance Mismatch in Light of the Unified State Model

Fundamenta Informaticae, 2012
In this paper we discuss the misunderstanding that have arisen over the years around the broadly defined term of the object-relational impedance mismatch. It occurs in various aspects of database application programming. There are three concerns judged the most important: mismatching data models, mismatching binding times and mismatching object ...
