Experimental modelling of biomechanical impedance characteristics

Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1986
New experimental modelling of biomechanical impedance is proposed. The parameters which express the impedance characteristics are simply determined by impedance measurement. Audiofrequencies below about 1000 Hz and comparatively lower preloads (below about 6370 kg m−2) are chosen as the research domain.

A generic impedance modeling technique

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2020
Abstract In this work, a generic impedance modeling technique is proposed. The technique is able to identify a circuit model that is most suitable for fitting measured impedance magnitude data using a genetic algorithm solver as well as the optimum circuit model parameters.

Model Predictive Variable Impedance Control of Manipulators for Adaptive Precision-Compliance Tradeoff

IEEE/ASME transactions on mechatronics, 2023
Impedance control (IC) is widely used in contact-rich manipulator tasks since it provides manipulators with both operation precision and contact compliance, and trades them off by impedance parameters.

Railway lines models for impedance evaluation

8th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.98EX227), 2002
This paper deals with modeling of electrified railway lines using the multiconductor transmission lines (MTLs) approach, in order to investigate the harmonic impedance seen at the train pantograph at various locations along the line. A railway line model has been studied and a sensitivity analysis with respect to the structure of the model has been ...

Seismic inversion with adaptive edge-preserving smoothing preconditioning on impedance model

Geophysics, 2019
Poststack seismic impedance inversion is an effective approach for reservoir prediction. Due to the sensitivity to noise and the oscillation near the bed boundary, Gaussian distribution constrained seismic inversion is unfavorable to delineate the subtle-

Electrode Modelling in Electrical Impedance Tomography

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1992
Summary: In electrical impedance tomography, measurements of an applied electrical current and the corresponding electrical potential are made on a finite number of electrodes placed on the boundary of an object. These measurements are then used to reconstruct the electrical conductivity distribution in the interior of the object.

Evaluation and Suppression of a Low-Frequency Output Voltage Ripple of a Single-Stage AC–DC Converter Based on an Output Impedance Model

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
A single-stage ac–dc converter with high power factor (PF) usually suffers from a significant output voltage ripple at double line frequency. In order to suppress such low-frequency output voltage ripple and maintain high PF, a series compensation ...

Impedance model for estimating train-induced building vibrations

Engineering structures, 2018
In recent years, the exploitation of over-track construction in populated Chinese cities has resulted in buildings being subjected to potentially disturbing vibrations from rail lines in metro depots.

The Impedance of Curved Artery Models

Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1983
The impedance (pressure drop/flow rate) of four curved artery models has been determined experimentally for steady and periodic flows simulating conditions in the aortic arch. Steady flow results indicate that very short entry lengths are required for flow development in curved artery models, and impedance is elevated above straight tube values by a ...

Simplified Impedance Model for Adhesively Bonded Piezo-Impedance Transducers

Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2009
The electromechanical impedance technique employs surface-bonded lead zirconate titanate piezoelectric ceramic patches as impedance transducers for structural health monitoring and nondestructive evaluation. The patches are bonded to the monitored structures using finitely thick adhesive bond layer, which introduces shear lag effect, thus invariably ...
