EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF OPEN LOOP MULTI-STAGE IMPEDANCE PUMPING SYSTEM [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2011
Impedance pump is a simple valveless pumping mechanism, where an elastic tube is joined to a more rigid one; a periodic asymmetrical pinching on the elastic tube will produce a unidirectional flow.

Numerical Methodology to Obtain the Sound Absorption of Materials by Inserting the Acoustic Impedance

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2021
Numerical models allow structural characteristics to be obtained by solving mathematical formulations. The sound absorption capacity of a material can be acquired by numerically simulating an impedance tube and using the method governed by ISO 10534-2 ...

Determining acoustical directionality in an impedance tube using multiple fixed microphones [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Acoustic impedance of a port or object is a valuable piece of knowledge describing how well sound is transmitted or reflected. The commonly used slotted-line method is labourious and time consuming, requiring manual movement to find the maxima and minima

Using a side-branched volume to tune the acoustic field in a looped-tube travelling-wave thermoacoustic engine with a RC load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Travelling-wave thermoacoustic engine utilises a compact acoustic network to obtain a right time-phasing between the acoustic velocity and pressure oscillations within the regenerator to force gas parcels to experience a Stirling-like thermodynamic cycle.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Methodology for Testing Acoustic Absorption of Lightweight Fabrics with 3D Microstructures Using Impedance Tube

open access: yesAcoustics
In this study, the limits of using the impedance tube, or Kundt tube, are examined using the two-microphone method to obtain the normal acoustic absorption coefficient when analyzing the sound absorption properties of lightweight acoustic fabrics ...

A new simple method for determining the sound absorption coefficient

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Taking into account the influence of the length and diameter of the impedance tube on the process of decay of sound waves, a new study of sound propagation in an impedance tube is presented, on the basis of which it is easier to determine the sound ...

Optimization of Multistep Cavity Configuration to Extend Absorption Bandwidth of Micro Perforated Panel Absorber

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2018
Micro perforated panel (MPP) absorber is a new form of acoustic absorbing material in comparison with porous ones. These absorbers are considered as next generation ones and the best alternative for traditional porous materials like foams.

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.
