Fully integrated three dimensional sound intensity sensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
For the first time, a complete 3-dimensional sound intensity sensor – consisting of 4 particle velocity sensors and a pressure microphone – has been integrated on a single chip, providing the possibility to do nearly point measurements of acoustic ...

Impedance Tube Solution for Helmholtz Resonator Prototyping

open access: yesAcoustics Australia
Abstract Transfer function method impedance tube measurement is a well-known approach used for determining acoustical properties of mostly porous materials. This paper presents a prototype of impedance tube together with the software solution published under open-source license.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

ON THE ANALYSIS OF IMPEDANCE-DRIVEN REVERSE FLOW DYNAMICS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2017
Impedance pump is a simple valve-less pumping mechanism, where an elastic tube is joined to a more rigid tube, at both ends. By inducing a periodic asymmetrical compression on the elastic tube will produce a unidirectional flow within the system.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Sound Absorption Characteristics of Rebonded Polyurethane Foam

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Polyurethane foam (PUF) is an exceptionally adaptable product that has a variety of applications—it can be found almost everywhere. Due to such high utilization, the amount of polyurethane foam waste generated each year is growing over time.

Surface Impedance Determination via Numerical Resolution of the Inverse Helmholtz Problem

open access: yes, 2017
Assigning boundary conditions, such as acoustic impedance, to the frequency domain thermoviscous wave equations (TWE), derived from the linearized Navier-Stokes equations (LNSE) poses a Helmholtz problem, solution to which yields a discrete set of ...

Developing and evaluating a hybrid wind instrument [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A hybrid wind instrument generates self-sustained sounds via a real-time interaction between a computed excitation model (such as the physical model of human lips interacting with a mouthpiece) and a real acoustic resonator.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Real-time dynamic articulations in the 2-D waveguide mesh vocal tract model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Time domain articulatory vocal tract modeling in one-dimensional (1-D) is well established. Previous studies into two-dimensional (2-D) simulation of wave propagation in the vocal tract have shown it to present accurate static vowel synthesis.
