3D XFEM Modelling of Imperfect Interfaces
In this paper, recent contributions to the modelling of coated inclusions by means of an eXtended Finite Element Method are presented. The matrix particle interface is modelled as a finite thickness, imperfect interface. Two approaches are considered: a variational approach inspired to Suquet’s work on asymptotic analysis of thin layers, and an ...

Homogenization of a composite with imperfect interface
In this paper the homogenization of the stationary heat equation with rapidly oscillating coefficients in a two-component composite with imperfect inclusions is studied. According to the values of a parameter γ, describing the thermal resistance of the interface separating the two materials, different limit behaviours are obtained.

Analysis of a mode-I crack perpendicular to an imperfect interface
The elastostatic problem of a mode-I crack embedded in a bimaterial with an imperfect interface is investigated. The crack is in proximity to and perpendicular to the imperfect interface, which is governed by linear spring-like relations.
