Tacrolimus treatment in women with repeated implantation failures

open access: yesReproductive Medicine and Biology
Background Tacrolimus is an immunosuppressive drug that works as a calcineurin inhibitor to improve the reproductive outcomes for women who have experienced multiple implantation failures (RIF) and show elevated type 1 helper T (Th1)/Th2 cell ratios ...

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Finite Element Analysis of porously punched prosthetic short stem virtually designed for simulative uncemented Hip Arthroplasty

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2017
Background There is no universal hip implant suitably fills all femoral types, whether prostheses of porous short-stem suitable for Hip Arthroplasty is to be measured scientifically. Methods Ten specimens of femurs scanned by CT were input onto Mimics to

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.

Control of human endometrial stromal cell motility by PDGF-BB, HB-EGF and trophoblast-secreted factors

open access: yes, 2013
Human implantation involves extensive tissue remodeling at the fetal-maternal interface. It is becoming increasingly evident that not only trophoblast, but also decidualizing endometrial stromal cells are inherently motile and invasive, and likely ...

Modification of polypropylene films for thin film capacitors by ion implantation

open access: yes, 2022
4 S.Polypropylene (PP) films for thin film capacitors were implanted with N, Ar, and Ne, respectively, in order to reduce the water vapor permeability. It is shown that the reduction of the water vapor permeability strongly depends on implantation dose ...

Intrauterine infusion of autologous platelet-rich plasma modulates endometrial immune status and improves pregnancy outcomes in patients with persistent chronic endometritis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundChronic endometritis (CE) has been widely recognized as a potential cause of infertility, however, access to effective treatment is a formidable challenge due to the rudimentary understanding of the pathogenesis of persistent CE. Here, we aimed

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Podocalyxin promotes the formation of compact and chemoresistant cancer spheroids in high grade serous carcinoma

open access: yesScientific Reports
High grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) metastasises primarily intraperitoneally via cancer spheroids. Podocalyxin (PODXL), an anti-adhesive transmembrane protein, has been reported to promote cancer survival against chemotherapy, however its role in HGSC ...
