Comparisons of unilateral and bilateral cochlear implantation for children: spatial listening skills and quality of life [PDF]
Recently, controversy in the care of severely-profoundly deaf children has centred on whether they should be provided with bilateral cochlear implants (two implants, one in each ear) rather than a unilateral cochlear implant (one implant in one ear ...

Injectable 3D Hydrogel Scaffold with Tailorable Porosity Post-Implantation
Since rates of tissue growth vary significantly between tissue types, and also between individuals due to differences in age, dietary intake, and lifestyle-related factors, engineering a scaffold system that is appropriate for personalized tissue ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Effects of oestradiol implants on the ovulation rate of the ewe [PDF]
Summary. In a series of 5 experiments, ewes were treated with implants releasing oestradiol-17β and the effects on ovulation rate were observed. Large doses of oestradiol-17β (> 20 μg/day) produced anovulation while smaller amounts only reduced the proportion of twin ovulations.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Clinical aspects of embryo implantation: from the perspective of tissue perfusion. [PDF]
Hypothesis: Pelvic perfusion is the pivotal factor for the outcome of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment once clinical and embryological variables are controlled for their effect.;Demonstration of Hypothesis: In a series of three studies, the ...
