Reprogramming tumor cells with LCOR mRNA nanotherapy to enhance immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LCOR (Ligand‐dependent corepressor) mRNA encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles restores LCOR activity in tumor cells, constraining aggressive tumor cell states and increasing tumor immunogenicity. This reprogramming makes tumor cells more vulnerable to T‐cell attack and enhances their response to immune‐checkpoint immunotherapy.

Late-stage vacuolization as a compaction-dependent prognostic marker for day 4 embryo selection

open access: yesReproduction and Fertility
This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of late-stage vacuolization in day 4 embryos relative to compaction status. We retrospectively analyzed 9,779 embryos from 2,409 patients undergoing fresh D4 transfers between 2018 and 2024.

Prolonged post-thaw culture of embryos does not improve outcomes of frozen human embryo transfer cycles: A prospective randomized study

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Reproduction, 2019
Objective: To evaluate the impact of prolonged post-thaw embryos culture on pregnancy outcome during frozen embryo transfer cycles. Methods: This prospective cohort study evaluated 324 thaw transfer cycles with 819 embryos from 269 patients at the Center

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

Experience with Devices implanted fixed-rate pacemakers [PDF]

open access: yesThorax, 1973
The fate of 183 implants of Devices TF 2970 fixed-rate pacemakers is analysed. The incidence of clinical complications such as sepsis or skin necrosis, displacement of the electrode, and exit block, and the causes of the 19 deaths are discussed. In 28 of the 183 pacemakers pacing stopped for technical reasons, which are described; the commonest cause ...

Neurochemical Endpoints to Inform Early‐Stage Trials of Spinocerebellar Ataxia 2 and 3 in a Multisite Setting

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neurochemical levels measured by brain MR spectroscopy (MRS) have been proposed as endpoints for clinical trials in early‐stage spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) trials. We tested their trial‐readiness by quantifying neurochemicals in three affected brain regions in early‐stage cohorts of SCA2 and SCA3, examining their reproducibility in ...

Follicular fluid insulin like growth factor-1 (FF IGF-1) is a biochemical marker of embryo quality and implantation rates in in vitro fertilization cycles

open access: yesJournal of Human Reproductive Sciences, 2013
Context: Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) has been reported to play a role in human follicular and embryonic development. However, earlier studies carried out mostly in animal models or in culture mediums supplemented with IGF-1 have been unable to ...

Integration of Serum Neurofilament Light Chain and Cortical Dysfunction Improves Diagnostic Accuracy in ALS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether integration of serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) and cortical dysfunction improves diagnostic accuracy in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) when applied alongside the Gold Coast criteria (GCC). Methods In this prospective study, 148 participants with suspected ALS were recruited (101 ALS and 47 with ALS ...

High Dose Rate Oxygen Implantation for Formation of Silicon-on-Insulator Structures

open access: yes, 1990
We have studied Separation by IMplantation of OXygen (SIMOX) processes using very high dose rates (40–60 μA/cm2). For a dose of 4 × 1017 O+/cm2 at 160 keV, the structure formed by implantation at 50 μA/cm2 is very similar to that associated with lower ...

Comparison of Day 2 Tubal Embryo Transfer with Day 3 Embryo Transfer into the Uterus of Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Derived Human Embryos

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2006
Objective: To compare the results of embryo transfer into the uterus (ET) performed on day 3 vs. tubal embryo transfer (TET) on day 2 in couples diagnosed with male factor infertility. Materials and Methods: We collected data from 34 and 110 patients who
