Effect of implant size and shape on implant success rates: A literature review
Understanding and using biomechanical theories that effect endosseous implant design may improve the performance of implants in varying load conditions and allow the clinician to better apply this information with potentially improved success rates. The following article presents information from English peer-reviewed journals identified by a Medline ...

Loss of NAPRT promotes lung tumor initiation and growth through a noncanonical mechanism, independent of its role in NAD+ biosynthesis. Mechanistically, NAPRT depletion activates the mTORC2‐driven AKT/β‐catenin signaling axis to enhance clonogenic and invasive phenotypes. Furthermore, lung‐specific Naprt deletion significantly increases tumor burden in

Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Clarification on Rotation Rates of Textured Breast Implants [PDF]
We have read the article by Maxwell et al entitled “Benefits and Limitations of Macrotextured Breast Implants and Consensus Recommendations for Optimizing Their Effectiveness.”1 One statement in particular is strongly deserving of clarification. One of the paragraphs in the article begins with a discussion of the reported rates through six years of ...

Targeting the EpCAM‐AXL axis to overcome drug resistance in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells often evade therapy by hijacking signaling pathways. We reveal that cleaved EpCAM (sEpCAM) stabilizes the oncogenic protein AXL, driving NF‐κB and STAT3‐mediated chemoresistance. This EpCAM‐AXL axis identifies a high‐risk patient subset with poor prognosis.

LVRF (lymphatic and vascular resistance factor) is a VEGFA splice variant upregulated in response to anti‐angiogenic therapy that fosters tumor adaptation through enhanced vascularization, lymphangiogenesis, and metastatic dissemination. Targeting LVRF with fully human neutralizing antibodies disrupts these processes and limits resistant tumor growth ...

Ion implantation into nanoparticulate functional layers
S.537-540Layers of silicon nanoparticles with resistivity down to 10 mΩcm are demonstrated using chemical and thermal treatment as well as ion implantation. Morphology and crystallinity of the layers are characterized using AFM and XRD.
