A New Methodological Approach for Evaluating the Impact of Educational Intervention Implementation on Learning Outcomes

open access: yes, 2019
Randomised control trials (RCTs) are commonly regarded as the 'gold standard' for evaluating educational interventions. While this experimental design is valuable in establishing causal relationships between the tested intervention and outcomes, reliance

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Systematic review and cost-effectiveness evaluation of ‘pill-in-the-pocket’ strategy for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation compared to episodic in-hospital treatment or continuous antiarrhythmic drug therapy

open access: yesHealth Technology Assessment, 2010
Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a tachyarrhythmia characterised by unco-ordinated atrial activation with consequent deterioration of impairment of atrial function and a rapid, irregular heartbeat.

Implementation Workshop: High Performance Work Organizations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A report on findings from the first Lean Aircraft Initiative (LAI) Implementation Workshop held on February 5-6, 1997. The report is not a "cookbook" or a "how to" manual. Rather, it is a summary of the first phase in a learning process.

Implementation and Renegotiation [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Economic Studies, 1999
Implementation theory is concerned with the design of social mechanisms that select equilibrium outcomes which are optimal according to some criterion of social welfare (called a social choice rule). In many cases, the social mechanism is designed before the state of the world is known.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
