The Cultural Historical Complexity of Human Personality Adaptation
Research on implicit intelligence has conceptualized students’ beliefs about the nature of intelligence as either fixed or malleable. This research has largely not included African American adolescents, a group for whom beliefs about intelligence have a ...

Exploring the relation between People’s Theories of Intelligence and Beliefs about Brain Development
A person’s belief about whether intelligence can change (called their implicit theory of intelligence) predicts something about that person’s thinking and behavior.

This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Muscle Control of an Extra Robotic Digit
This study compares muscle‐ and movement‐based control for operating a supernumerary robotic thumb. While movement control performs better in the proposed tasks, muscle‐based (EMG) control promotes broader motor learning. The results highlight the promise and challenges of using biosignals for human augmentation, offering new insights into intuitive ...

Nonreciprocal Swarmalators With Reconfigurable and Controllable Formations for Robot Collectives
Nonreciprocal swarmalator interactions are enabled through control barrier functions to transform self‐organizing robot collectives into reconfigurable, constraint‐aware systems. Complex two‐ and three‐dimensional shapes, continuous morphing, obstacle‐aware navigation, collective splitting, and object transport emerge from modulating agent‐level ...

The implicit theories of intelligence of English adolescents identified as gifted and talented [PDF]
An implicit theory of intelligence is a belief about the stability of intelligence – whether it is a fixed and innate trait (entity) or a malleable trait that can be manipulated through behaviour (incremental).

Time History Gaussian Process Regression for Modeling the Dynamics of Ankle Exoskeleton User Comfort
Exoskeletons need to be comfortable, but the perception of comfort may change over time. This study investigated if short‐term time history directly influences comfort. No previous trials’ input features were predictive of comfort. Including the previous trial's comfort score marginally improved model accuracy compared to a model using only the current
