본 연구의 목적은 조직 내 동료효과가 구성원들의 행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해, 첫째, 동료의 인상관리행동이 종업원의 인상관리 동기에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 둘째, 종업원의 인상관리 동기가 과업수행 및 발언행동에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 셋째, 동료의 인상관리행동이 종업원의 과업수행과 발언행동에 미치는 영향에서 종업원의 인상관리 동기가 이러한 관계를 매개하는지를 검증하고, 마지막으로, 종업원의 내적 통제소재 정도가 동료의 인상관리행동이 종업원의 인상관리 동기에 미치는 영향을 조절하는지 검증하는 데 있다.
