Molecular imprinting of small, poorly functionalised organic compounds

open access: yes, 2008
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been compared to natural antibodies in that they can specifically bind target compounds in a similar way that antibodies specifically bind to an antigen.

Genomic imprinting syndromes and cancer.

open access: yes, 2010
Genomic imprinting represents a form of epigenetic control of gene expression in which one allele of a gene is preferentially expressed according to the parent-of-origin of the allele.

Measuring the Hall Effect in Hysteretic Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The authors highlight common pitfalls in measuring the Hall effect: in hysteretic magnets, improper data processing can create signals that look exotic but are not real. This Perspective explains the origin of these artifacts and presents practical measurement strategies that help researchers identify reliable Hall responses in complex magnetic ...

Delta-like and gtl2 are reciprocally expressed, differentially methylated linked imprinted genes on mouse chromosome 12

open access: yes, 2000
The distal portion of mouse chromosome 12 is imprinted. To date, however, Gtl2 is the only imprinted gene identified on chromosome 12. Gtl2 encodes multiple alternatively spliced transcripts with no apparent open reading frame.

Double‐Sided Mechanical Interlocking Enables Soft‐Rigid Conductive Interfaces With a Record High Toughness for Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A double‐sided mechanical interlocking strategy is developed to create robust electrical contact between polymer electrode and metal interconnect. The fibrous structure enables formation of thread–hole adhesion, which only breaks under bulk failure and achieves a record high interfacial energy exceeding 730 J·m−2. This adhesion secures the integrity of

Mimicking Human Perspiration: A Layered Microfluidic Skin Phantom With Tunable Hydrodynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A multilayer microfluidic skin phantom based on thermoplastic elastomers is developed to mimic human perspiration. Spatially controlled wettability enables capillary‐driven transport and controlled droplet formation at the surface, resembling sweat gland behavior.

Direct Patterning with Femtosecond Laser for Fabricating Ge2Sb2Te5 Stamps and Imprinting of UV Resins.

open access: yes, 2016
A novel method to fabricate a micro-scaled meter metallic stamp for imprinting is proposed in this study. Phase transformation film of amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) was first deposited on cleaned silicon substrates by using DC sputtering process.

Facile Synthesis and Application of Dibutyl Aminophosphonate Polymer for Robust Uranium Capture from Concentrated Nitric Acid Process Streams

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Dibutyl aminophosphonate (DiBAP) resin enables rapid, highly selec ve recovery of trace U(VI) from strongly acidic streams, with excellent acid stability, efficient column performance, and quan ta ve regenera on using ammonium carbonate. ABSTRACT The recovery of trace uranium from strongly acidic streams generated during uranium processing is of ...

Development and Characterization of artificial receptors for boar taint by means of molecular imprinting

open access: yes, 2015
Boar taint is an off-odour resulting from the accumulation of androstenone (AEON), skatole (SK), and indole (IND) in adipose tissue of intact male porcines [1].

Wrinkle Formation and Imprinting of Gold Film Deposited on Polydimethylsiloxane

open access: yes, 2015
Bi-axial tensile stress was applied on a polydimethylsiloxane film and mounted on a PMMA plate surface. Then, the film’s tensile strain was fixed and the gold film was sputtered onto the surface.
