Impulse Characteristics in Rapid Movement

Journal of Motor Behavior, 1986
Three untested assumptions of the impulse-variability model were examined in two experiments utilizing rapid, uni-planar limb movements. Experiment 1 varied movement distance (A) and movement time (MT) in a rapid-timing paradigm where the subject moved a lever through a certain distance in a certain time.

Impulse radio multipath characteristics and diversity reception

ICC '98. 1998 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record. Affiliated with SUPERCOMM'98 (Cat. No.98CH36220), 2002
Delay-and-sum beamforming is applied to both ideal and measured ultra-wideband (UWB) signals. The results of propagation measurements are also used directly to estimate the performance of an UWB communication system and to characterize design tradeoffs.

Evaluation of the multipath characteristics of the impulse radio channel

Ninth IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (Cat. No.98TH8361), 2002
In order to estimate the performance of impulse radio communication systems, a characterization of the channel is required. In particular, knowledge of the multipath angle and time-of-arrival distributions is useful for predicting the performance of diversity reception schemes. In this paper, the CLEAN algorithm is applied to ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB)

Impulse Signal Transmission and Synthesis Characteristics

2018 IEEE 3rd International Conference on Cloud Computing and Internet of Things (CCIOT), 2018
Transmission and synthesis characteristics of impulse signals is one of key technologies of the time-domain radar system. This paper regards the unit antenna as the radiation power and gives transmission and synthesis characteristics of the array antenna impulse signals. From theoretical and experimental results, the experimental results are consistent

Characteristics of the impulsive phase of flares

1992
The impulsive phase of flares is an observational concept, characterized by spiky emissions from γ-rays to radio waves. It is generally agreed that during this time a large fraction of the. original flare energy resides in energetic particles which are manifested in these emissions.

Impulse Characteristics of Aerial Spacer Cable

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1967
Although the overall performance record of aerial spacer cable on the Public Service Electric and Gas Company system has been excellent, the number of failures caused by lightning appears to be disproportionately high. To determine the optimum design criteria of this type of distribution system, a program of laboratory impulse tests was established ...

Impulse transient characteristic of grounding grids

2002 3rd International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2003
The lightning transient characteristics of a substation grounding grid are analyzed in detail, especially considering the dynamic and nonlinear effects of soil ionization around grounding conductors and the inductance between grounding conductors. The analysis results are calculated by a loss transmission-line model with distributed time-variable ...

Impulse voltage characteristics of circuit breakers

Electrical Engineering, 1954
Insulation co-ordination is a major consideration in the cost and design of a complete electric power system and of all individual pieces of apparatus. Basic impulse levels have been standardized so that apparatus and protective equipment can be co-ordinated. These levels are measured by withstands on specified test waves.

Modelling characteristics of the impulse transformer in a wide frequency range

International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2020
SummaryIn the paper, a new compact electrothermal model of the impulse transformer is proposed. This model has a form of a subcircuit dedicated for SPICE and could be used for low power impulse transformers applicable in switch‐mode power supplies used in electronics.

The characteristics of impulsive solar EUV bursts

Solar Physics, 1978
We examine a number of high time resolution intensity-time profiles of EUV impulsive bursts as observed by the Harvard College Observatory EUV Spectroheliometer carried aboard the Skylab Apollo Telescope Mount. These bursts are found to be synchronous (to within the instrumental time resolution of 5.5 s) in all wavelengths observed, corresponding to ...
