A New In Vitro/In Vivo Kinetic Correlation Method for Nitrofurantoin Matrix Tablet Formulations
The kinetic distributions of in vitro percentage release and in vivo percentage urinary excretion rates of nitrofurantoin from matrix tablets were plotted using a kinetic program.

While the main function of the skin is to protect an organism against dehydration and external stress, it is more or less permeable to some chemical substances and may allow the permeation of certain drugs for therapeutic purposes. The observation of professional intoxications challenged by this permeability has triggered research in this field ...

Correlation of in vivo and in vitro screening tests
Journal of Endodontics, 1978In vitro experimentation presents advantages that include a higher degree of controlling test situations than currently used in in vivo experiments. The method is simple, inexpensive, and fast, and allows useful guidance during development of the material as well as control of production.

Validation of in Vitro-in Vivo Correlation Models
1997A valid model can be defined as one that is a) well-grounded on principles or evidence, b) able to withstand criticism or objection, and c) capable of serving the purpose of the model. In the area of mathematical modelling, there are two criteria in the validation process: internal criteria and external criteria (1). The internal criteria establish the

In Vitro- In Vivo Correlation’s Dissolution Limits Setting
Pharmaceutical Research, 2014In vitro in vivo correlation (IVIVC) is a biopharmaceutical tool recommended for use in formulation development. When validated, IVIVC can be used to set dissolution limits and, based on the dissolution limits, as a surrogate for an in vivo study.

Correlation of In Vitro and In Vivo Methodology for Evaluation of Antacids
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1976The rate and extent of acid consumption of an antacid suspension and tablet were evaluated by in vitro and in vivo techniques. Four different test procedures were used to estimate in vitro antacid reactivity. In vivo effects were determined in the fasted and postcibal states in normal human subjects by a radiotelemetry procedure.

Correlations of in vitro and in vivo hepatotoxicity for five haloalkanes
Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1983Five haloalkanes--CBrCl3, CCl4, CHCl3, and 1,1,1-and 1,1,2-trichloroethane (TCE)--were ranked for their relative hepatotoxicity in an in vitro system of isolated hepatocyte suspensions and in vivo by po administration of the test chemical to fasted rats of the same strain and sex as used for the hepatocytes. Cytotoxic parameters used for ranking in the

In vitro/in vivo correlations: Scientific implications and standardisation
European Journal of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, 1993In vitro/in vivo correlations and the parameters that should be correlated have now been well defined in the USP and FDA working group proposals. Among the three levels of correlation defined, Level A is the most interesting one. In this paper, the Level A correlation is studied from a mathematical and a biopharmaceutical point of view.

Hyperthermia with implanted electrodes: In vitro and in vivo correlations
International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1983Hyperthermia as a treatment for cancer has elicited much recent interest. However, major difficulties persist both in the technology for heating deep-seated tumors, and in thermal dosimetry. We have investigated a heating technique for deep-seated neoplasms that employs an internal implanted electrode and an external electrode to apply radiofrequency ...
