Seed and Seedling Surface-Sterilization for In Vitro Culture of Tillandsia gardneri (Bromeliaceae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Tillandsia gardneri is a bromeliad with ornamental value and a wide geographical distribution over Brazil. However, due to habitat loss and illegal over-collection in the wild it is included as a vulnerable species in the official list of endangered ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

In vitro shoot induction and plant regeneration from flower buds in Paphiopedilum orchids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Paphiopedilum species are recalcitrant in tissue culture, and no explant from mature plants has been successfully mass propagated in vitro. This study was aimed at inducing shoots and regenerating plants from the flowering plants of a sequentially ...

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Conservazione della biodiversità di susino attraverso crescita rallentata in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In vitro techniques have been proved to be also helpful in the conservation of the plant biodiversity. With this approach, some Sicilian cultivars of European plum (Prunus domestica L.) have been investigated for the application of in vitro slow ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...
