Dissolution of gall-stones in vitro.

Journal of the Indian Medical Association, 1992
An in vitro study on dissolution of 36 gall-stones obtained from 3 patients (12 stones from each patient) was carried out in heparin, bile salt and clofibrate solutions of different strengths. Heparin was found to be a poor solvent while bile salt (sodium desoxycholate) proved better and clofibrate the best solvent in various concentrations used.

Dissolution of bile duct stones with monooctanoin: in vitro study.

International surgery, 1990
Mono-octanoin (Mo) is the drug of choice in the topical litholytic treatment of residual gallstones following cholecystectomy. Although this drug does not produce significant side effects, it requires a lengthy period of treatment (15-20 days). The purpose of this study was to verify the in vitro efficacy of the mixture Mo + 10% H2O vs pure Mo in human
