Respiratory Organ‐on‐a‐Chip for Disease Modeling: From Architecture to Functional Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Respiratory organ‐on‐a‐chip (ROC) models capture key mechanical and cellular cues of the human respiratory system, enabling quantitative dissection of disease mechanisms. This review links ROC architectures to disease modeling, functional integration, and commercialization, and proposes a decision framework that aligns model complexity with mechanistic

Efficacy of Salvia officinalis Shrub as a Sustainable Feed Additive for Reducing Ruminal Methane Production and Enhancing Fermentation in Ruminants

open access: yesAnimals
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the inclusion of dried Salvia officinalis (SO) shrub leaves on nutrient degradability, ruminal in vitro fermentation, gas production (GP), methane (CH4), and carbon dioxide (CO2) productions ...

Engineering Resatorvid‐Loaded Sub‐Microgels of Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate/Hyaluronic Acid to Treat Acute Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents HAEP@Res sub‐microgels as a lung‐targeted delivery system integrating antioxidant activity with anti‐inflammatory therapy. The sub‐microgels demonstrate excellent biocompatibility, efficiently scavenge intracellular ROS, and downregulate pro‐inflammatory cytokines and genes in a Bleo‐induced ALI mouse model. These findings highlight

In vitro gas production from pearl millet cultivars under nitrogen levels

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Saúde e Produção Animal
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the in vitro gas production from three pearl millet cultivars submitted to four nitrogen levels. The treatments consisted of three pearl millet cultivars (ADR 500, ADR 7020, and LABH 70732) and four nitrogen levels (0, 50, 100, and 200 kg/ha), using urea as the nitrogen source. A 3 x 4 factorial experimental design,

Oxygen Supply of Islets of Langerhans by Photosynthetically Active Microalgae in Bioprinted Co‐Cultures Maintains Their Function in a Hypoxic Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.

Controllable Dynamic Mechanical Cell Stimulation using Magnetically Actuated Artificial Cilia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This paper introduces a platform based on magnetic artificial cilia for providing controllable dynamic mechanical stimulation to single cells, suitable for investigating large cell populations and enabling live cell imaging. Proof‐of‐principle experiments show that cell morphology is strongly influenced by the artificial cilia, that cellular forces can
