A series of Ir(III) complexes (Ir‐1‐Ir‐4) based on imidazole derivatives provide a new afterglow luminescence mechanism. The work expands the range of afterglow luminescence frameworks to overcome: (i) a lack of new afterglow scaffolds; (ii) the dependence on initial external light activation; and (iii) aggregation‐caused quenching.

Oligosaccharides with defined glycosidic bonds drive divergent gut microbial succession and shape unique metabolic profiles. Absolute time‐series profiling with Bayesian generalized Lotka–Volterra modeling identifies bond‐specific microbial responders, while monoculture validation and metaproteomics reveal linkage‐matched transport and cleavage modules.

An oxygen‐controlled iridium‐oxide (IrOx) nano‐net structure is developed to enhance the sensitivity of metal‐electrolyte‐metal‐insulator‐silicon (MEMIS) biosensors. Integrated with a deep learning model, this platform achieves a high accuracy of 94.8% for detecting the breast cancer biomarker LOXL2.

On visions and promises — ethical aspects of in vitro meat
Innovators of in vitro meat (IVM) are convinced that this approach is the solution for problems related to current meat production and consumption, especially regarding animal welfare and environmental issues. However, the production conditions have yet to be fully clarified and there is still a lack of ethical discourses and critical debates on IVM ...
